Arsène Wenger says there has been “no movement” on Cesc Fabregas’ situation despite media speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Barcelona increasing.
The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to his former club this summer though Wenger has reiterated his desire for Fabregas to stay at Arsenal. When asked for an update on Friday, the manager insisted there was nothing to report.
“The position at the moment [with Fabregas] is a ‘no comment’ situation because there is no movement at all,” he told Arsenal.com.
Samir Nasri has also been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium and Wenger hopes to sort out the Frenchman’s future soon.
Two players that Wenger has admitted could be leaving the Club this summer are Manuel Almunia and Nicklas Bendtner. Neither have travelled to Germany for the Club’s pre-season training camp.
“[it is] not completely [sorted that Samir will stay] but I want him to stay. He knows that. Hopefully we can sort that out in the coming weeks.”
“Alumina has been contacted by a few clubs, Bendtner as well,” he added.
“As long as the situation is not settled, we have to focus on the coming season with the players we have. The players who are uncertain, it is difficult for them to focus on being completely committed.”

Wenger - We have to find one more defender

By Giuseppe Muro Arsène Wenger has revealed he will "certainly" find a new addition to his backline - but won’t be drawn on any individuals. Everton defender Phil Jagielka is the latest name suggested by the media with Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Blackburn’s Chris Samba also linked with a move to Emirates Stadium this summer. Though he wouldn’t comment on specific players, Wenger confirmed to Arsenal.com on Friday that he is looking to add to his defensive options.“Certainly, we will have to find one more defender,” he said. “We [are] working on it. “I can promise we work very hard on it. In fairness, everybody looks for players. Everybody looks for the same area and you see that nobody turns up with magic. It’s all about being steady, working very hard on it and being calm as well. “I don’t want to comment individually because I do not want to destabilise clubs. I do not want to do to other clubs what some clubs do to us so I wouldn’t like to comment individually on any player.”

Arsenal are set to hijack Chelsea’s move for giant Belgian Romelu Lukaku. The Anderlecht striker, who is just 18, is valued at around £17.5m and it was thought his move to Chelsea was virtually a done deal. But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also been alerted to the potential of Lukaku, who is already a full Belgium international. The new Didier Drogba? What Prem fans can actually expect from Romelu Lukaku by our Belgian football expertLukaku has bagged 31 league goals in just 71 first team appearances for Anderlecht and is rated one of the hottest properties in Europe. His arrival would hasten the departure of the likes of Nicklas Bendtner, who is wanted by Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and SV Hamburg.Lukaku is also aware that his chances of playing regular first team football will be improved by a move to the Emirates. At Stamford Bridge, he would be down the pecking order behind the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.Drogba, who is entering the final year of his contract, is Lukaku’s hero and the two have had conversations about his progress. The teenager’s massive physique has prompted comparisons with the Chelsea striker. But Anderlecht are adamant Lukaku’s success is not based on his stunning physique and prodigious power for one so young. They insist he can play the game as well.Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Arsenal-hijack-Chelsea-Romelu-Lukaku-bid-article774773.html#ixzz1T0NdLIRP Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will cave in to pressure and crank up his recruitment drive with the new season just three weeks away.As well as considering a move for Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku , he will also resume efforts to solve some long-term issues. His priorities are in central defence and midfield.Wenger’s first choice to come into his back four is Phil Jagielka, of Everton.Arsenal had a £10m bid for the England international rejected but they have not been put off.An improved offer will be made to the cash-strapped Merseysiders this week. It is believed Arsenal will go as high as £15m for the 28-year-old and Everton may find it difficult to reject. In midfield, Wenger has not ruled out a move for last season’s Footballer of the Year Scott Parker.Parker’s £60,000-a-week wages are a stumbling block and that outlay will severely test the resources of West Ham, following relegation to the Championship. That’s why the Hammers are prepared to consider a loan deal for Parker. They would save his wages for a year and try to go straight back up without him.Aston Villa have been deterred by Parker’s salary – but Wenger is fast running out of options to fill the midfield void.At 31, Parker is outside the age bracket Wenger prefers to do business from. But the Gunners boss also acknowledges that Parker is a proven Premier League performer who is now part of the England squad.Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Arsenal-new-bid-Everton-Phil-Jagielka-West-Ham-Scott-Parker-article774781.html#ixzz1T0OkJytE Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here

Arsenal are ready to break their transfer record with £20million moves for Valencia’s Juan Mata and Villarreal’s Santi Cazorla if the sale of captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona finally goes through this week.Barca vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu is in London this weekend and wants to meet Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis to submit a new £35m offer to Arsenal and drive through the deal.Fabregas missed the friendly win against FC Cologne in Germany and Arsenal have cited an ongoing hamstring injury, with insiders denying any suggestion that Fabregas is effectively on strike. It seems all it will take for Fabregas to go is for Barcelona to match Arsenal’s £40m valuation, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: ‘I don’t want to talk about transfers openly because it’s a negotiation, but if we sell a player or buy a player we’ll tell the Press. The details of what’s happening during transfer talks, I don’t like to talk about.’With the forecast income from Fabregas plus a kitty of about £25m, Arsenal are ready to spend serious money this summer, smashing their club record of £17.5m for Andrey Arshavin in 2009, possibly by buying Mata, 23, a left-sided wide player, for whom Valencia will demand £25m.Mata is Arsenal’s most expensive target along with Spain team-mate Cazorla, 26, who can play on either wing or centrally. Cazorla though is also being chased by Malaga. The future of Samir Nasri is also yet to be resolved, although Sportsmail understands that theboard have given Wenger permission to keep the winger, even though letting him run down his contract means that he will join Manchester City next summer for free, rather than for the £20m Arsenal might expect for him now. But if Nasri were to depart with Fabregas, Arsenal would renew their interest in 17-year-old winger Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain of Southampton, whose chairman Nicola Cortese is reluctant to sell him for at least another year and would expect £10m.Arsenal’s win over Cologne was effectively wrapped up inside 15 minutes as Gervinho scored twice on his debut, in which Wenger used 25 players.‘He did well,’ Wenger said. ‘It’s good for his confidence to start with a win and to score two goals. He’s shown what he’s strong at — his movement off the ball.’The match was preceded by a minute’s silence for the victims of Friday’s massacre in Norway —Cologne’s boss is Norwegian Stale Solbakken, 43, who had a season with Wimbledon in 1997-98.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2018061/FC-Cologne-1-Arsenal-2-Arsene-Wenger-wants-Spaniards-Cesc-Fabregas-cash.html#ixzz1T0SHWsaC
ARSENAL have Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javier ‘Javi’ Martinez on their radar as a possible replacement for Barcelona-bound Cesc Fabregas. The £16million-rated Spanish Under-21s captain has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.Martinez, 22, who recently signed a contract extension with the Basque club until 2016, was a member of Vicente Del Bosque’s Spanish World Cup-winning squad last summer. He captained the Spain Under-21s team during their recent European Championship, forming a formidable partnership with Thiago Alcantara – another player who has been linked with Arsena

Ramsey excited by midfield combination

By Giuseppe MuroAaron Ramsey says a connection has formed between himself, Jack Wilshere and Alex Song as the trio “start to build a relationship” in midfield. The central three have linked up in every pre-season game so far this summer and were particularly impressive against FC Cologne on Saturday with Ramsey playing further forward while Song and Wilshere sat deeper. The combination also formed the spine of Arsène Wenger's midfield towards the end of last season and, while he knows there will be strong competition when Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby return to full fitness, the Wales captain is excited by their progress.“Me, Jack and Alex are starting to build a relationship and are doing well together,” Ramsey told Arsenal Player.“We've shown that we are more than capable of playing together and are connecting together. It is an interesting combination and one that I hope I can be apart of.“In the middle, we did well [against Cologne] and it was a good work-out.”
Them its time to forget about Cesc ones./
“I hope [he’ll be a bargain],” said Wenger. “When you see all the fees around you become dizzy. We do what we want and we look first at the quality of the player and after if we have the money we spend it. In this case he wanted to join us. He had only one year on his contract so it was a good opportunity for us.”
smh getting dizzy, we aint signing no1. Guys having nosebleeds and sh*t when figures get close to £15m/I wonder if Cesc is going to be at the Emirates cup. Somehow I doubt it.

JET really f*cked himself, i didnt think him or Watt were eva good enough but Wenger fancied him and was waxing lyrical abt him a while agoAnd to be fair to the boy, hes got ability and the fact he can play in so many positions shows hes gota football brain, plus I feel theres a space for a gangly forward in our squad, i mean he started in the FA Cup against Stoke that time and came on against Chelsea last season so how did he go from being on the verge of things 2 getting bombed for £1m to average championship outfits
