i have to disagreeguys are not understanding what barca have done to the game.... yes they play a high line but they do not play a striker they compact the midfield area having 6/7 players playing there from puyol to messi there is only a gap of about 30/40 yards..... i tried to do a formation on FM to show you but its impossibleMourinho found a way of beating it last season and then guardiola tinkered with it and brought in mascherano.... no doubt against united, chelsea, madrid(away), inter he will sacrifice pedro/villa for him and make it even tighter in there.Also someone will figure out a way of beating barca could even be wenger

Like I said last week, the argument is that La Liga is very weak and poor and whether Barca/Real would do the same in the Prem week in and week out.Certain games the defenders aint even bothering to defend.The TV share money system is messed up in La Liga, its not like Prem or CL where its an equal share. So if other teams were getting a bit more that would go someway in helping those teams, the gap is just way too far and will only get worse.We all know Barca and Real are a good side, no one is doubting that. However we are doubting the strength of the league. There is no competitive balance at all./Another pub debate lol - Messi is great and does wonderful things HOWEVER the more and more la liga is poor people will start questioning - is he really as good as they say playing against sub standard players week in and week out. there will be a feeling that he hasn't completely proven himself as an all-time great. YETI don't think one good goal in a friendly negates the fact that the majority of his international career has been disappointing. He may not have regularly played in his exact club position, but it's not as if he's been asked to be a defensive midfielder. He's still deployed as a forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to excel in various positions across the front-line for United, Portugal and Real (and has shone in both english and spanish domestic competitions).

Add to that Barca slapped Madrid by how much?Barca are a different class, but SOMEONE will suss them out./I'd rather play them Knockout stages than later on in the season. Can't wait for our game tbh.

Barca beat Real 6-2 at the Santiago Bernabéu last may, so I dnt kno why people are so shocked at the Madrid result..Ive seen Barcelona a few times this season, yes they are brilliant but these silly spanish sides neva punish them, Osasuna shudda been 2-0 up before Barca scored the other weekAnd the English sides would not get put to the sword coz they have a different menatlity.. all u chaps wer cheering the "good football" played by Espanyol in the early stages but where did it get them?? a 5-1 spanking ina derby smh.. Wigan are like these Spanish sides, they would probably do betta in La Liga

Tbh Barca slap about most of the best teams around Europe in the CL as well. Apart from the semi final last year and maybe the year before against Chelsea Barca have been doneing teams dances for the last couple years. They're just a great team that utilises there strengths.They're not the best defensively and can be got at but when you've spent 60mins chasing shadows it's hard to have the energy to get forward sometimes.Also do not underestimate the pressing they do on these smaller teams for the most part of the game. Putting less experienced and lesser ability players under lots of pressure = problems.

No one is disputing about Real/Barca being good, dunno why that keeps getting bought up cos its never been said they aintThe argument is that la liga is poor amd seems to be getting worse, the sooner they sort out the TV money the betterLa Liga has mainly been dominated by two teams, swear only 7 or 8 teams in the HISTORY of La Liga has ever won it.Fail to see how teams getting spanked each and every week 5 6 7 and even 8 nil is a "competition" and joke ting is Real and Barca get about 150mil euros from TV rights where the rest get shite so the gap will only get worse. Last season swear Valencia were like 30pts behind ??Personally I just think watching a league that you know teams getting spanked every week is boring, of course if ur a Barca/Real fan you would love it. But as a competition or league its a forgone conclusion

I think you're confused with La Liga as a competition AND La Liga in terms of the quality of its teams.Barca/Madrid HAVE to be brought up because they are SO good & SO consistent that they make the rest of the teams look sh*t. You can't ignore them.We talk about Barca banging over goals for absolute fun & how sh*t it makes the other teams, but wait, weren't Chelsea banging teams 8-0 & 8-1 on several occasions last season?How are man talking about Blackburn not letting in goals like that against Barcelona but they got banged over 7-1 2 weeks ago by United? f*ck off.The ONLY reason teams in the PL wouldn't let in goals in the same manner Spanish teams do, is because they don't play as open. It's pragmatic approach that typifies English football. But what you ignore when you say that, is that it has an adverse effect on their attack. Sure, Stoke could put x-amount of guys behind the ball & defend for 90 minutes, but best believe they're not having the ball for more than 45 seconds at a time. They won't even create goal-scoring chances because they won't have possession.That's why Espanyol & other Spanish teams create those chances, their coaches try to balance it out, but it takes risk. It's a tactical give & take.
