Impressed but wasn't given a full chance, this ain't even about Beckford though. We can't have our top teams where the majority of the players are foreign. It makes NO sense. Swear they were running that max foreign play rule then. Sky money increased the quality of the league vastly Percentage of English players playing prem football makes no difference to the national team it's just an excuse. Playing with better quality of players should improve your game. Think about it most players become great players from match EXPERIENCE . take jjosh mceachran for instance . If he got some games under his belt at the highest level he could be a world class player but he won't ever grow into a player sitting on the bench while chelsea buy players for the fun of it When it comes to technical ability its a cultural thing . Not all but Arsenal for instance signing Giroud. A guy who has spent most of his career in the lower leagues, Wenger would never purchase an English equivalent. That is killing our league. Our top teams need a bigger English contingent. show me an english player thats come up from the lower leagues, won the prem & finished top scorer.. or similar We wont find one untill english players are allowed to DEVELOP and gain significant experience at the highest level .
