Jurgen Klopp wants to leave Borussia Dortmund
Klopp has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in the past, although both clubs are currently thought to be happy with their current manager.
Manuel Pellegrini's fate at Manchester City looks far more uncertain however, with the Citizens now at risk of missing out on the Champions League.
City have been linked with a move for Rafa Benitez in recent weeks, although Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is thought to be a long-term target.
But Klopp may be ready to take the reigns at the Etihad after a difficult season with Dortmund.
According to Bild, Klopp has asked to leave his post at the end of the season.
The club have announced a press conference for 2:30pm where Klopp's future is set to be clarified.
As a publicly listed company Dortmund are required to announce any major developments that could affect share prices.
Dortmund currently sit tenth in the Bundesliga table and will miss out on Champions League qualification next term.
Dortmund technical director Hans-Joachim Watzke told Bild earlier this month: "For me the situation is quite clear. Klopp will again be our coach next year."
