EU Migrant crisis

It doesn't make sense to be honest, are we saying that our intervention overseas is to protect our own interests or for the liberty and freedom of all people. If its the latter then there shouldn't be any semblance of an argument to allowing immigrants into the country. If its the former, then I can understand this stance. All of this talk of "backwards", I'm sure acclimatising to the UK is possible, especially when you consider the age of some of these migrants.

Neither..... Our involvement overseas was for the benefit of a few rich men who try to secure their continued wealth. The only responsibility we should feel as a Nation is for being d*ckheads and allowing guys to take our Brothers and Sisters to do their dirty work for their gains.

So only those on these shores are your brothers and sisters? How can you claim such association but then allow geography to rule it?

Call me a prick but I don't see how importing hundreds of thousands of backwards arabs into European countries solves anybody's provlems. The reason these people are fleeing in the first place is because they have a culture of mass murdering their neighbours over flimsy tribal/religious differences, and now people want them all to come and live in the UK and Germany so thy can bring with them the same mentality that destroyed their own countries?

The irony is not lost on me that me and Afgoon are the only people saying this, and we are probably both the only people in this thread who came to the UK as political refugees

100 per cent agree.

Just a few points:

- Why are the vast majority of men we see young and virile men?

-They are economic migrants. They are leaving safe countries to seek better pastures. The young boy who died, left Bodrum with his family. Bodrum is a bloody tourist resort. No war there.

-They are skipping perfectly safe countries such as Greece, Serbia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic to get to Germany. A young family refused to get off the train tracks in Budapest because they were not allowed to go to Germany.

-A large proportion of people trying to get into Europe are not even Syrian, and many migrants lie about being Syrian, to the consternation of actual Syrians.

-Surely it would be preferable for most of these migrants to seek asylum in countries which would be a better cultural and religious fit for them. Already there has a been riot in an German asylum centre, because of a rumour that somebody tore a page out of the Koran. There have been incidents of people throwing away food because it isn't halal. Already a leading German socialist has proposed separating migrants according to their ethnicity, such is the level of tension already. Can we be confident that these people will integrate successfully into European society.

-Some cultures are inhrently backwards, and will not assimilate or contribute anything meaningful to the host country. Some immigrant groups in this country have unemployment rates of over 50 per cent. Moreover their values are always antithetical to western values such as free speech etc. In Germany's case how will it even be possible to successfully integrate 800,000 people (More than the enitre population of Leeds) who do not speak any German, and lack and discernible skills. Most of these migrants would just become ghettoized as is already the case in most of mainland europe. And we all know about the social problems countries like France, Sweden and the Netherlands face.

-Europe is suffering from a high level of unemployment. Does Europe really need any more unskilled labour? If mass immigration was such a wondeful thing for a country's economy, why don't we all just direct these migrants to Greece.

-It's a joke the way eveyone has just been manipulated by the media with that picture of the dead boy. Yes it's a tragedy but saccharine sentimentalism does not make good policy. Tens of thousands of children have already died already in Syria and nobody gives a f**k. The more migrants we accept, the more it incentivises others to make the same treacherous journey. They are millions of people who would happily make that journey. Should we take them all in?

For Syrian refugees in Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and elsewhere, their plight is similar. Rape, sexual harassment at work and on the streets, homelessness, racism, and job exploitation are regular occurrences.

Economic migrants though, amirite?

These are conditions that a lot of the world has to deal with. Should the UK grant asylum to eveyone that has to deal with these things. The fact remains that Lebanon, turkey and Jordan are not war zones.

bomb saudi arabia and instead of the west hoarding their oil share it between the world and help build a state where all refugees can arm their selves and build a new society like israel.

Its funny how none of the surrounding elite Islamic nations give a shit about refugees almost as if they don't care or want this turmoil.

Muslims across the middle east should band together and overthrow these oil princes and kings.

The ummah only care when jews are involved.

so far lebanon have taken over a million in a country with a population of 4 million, its like america taking the whole of mexico

turkey has taken 1.7mill

jordan 600k, iraq 250k, egypt 130k, algeria 25k

its the gulf countries with all the riches in the world who still refuse to take any which is absolutely disgusting.

Muslim men from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries have asked their embassies to help to help them find Syrian girls living in makeshift refugee camps in Jordan and Iraq. “Exploiting the conditions of the girls in the refugee camps by marrying them temporarily is a form of rape that must stop immediately. Those responsible for this crime should be brought to trial,”

Wait, so at what point can or should the UK grant asylum to people?

They should apply from the safe countries they were in, and follow the legal procedures for claiming asylum. Not by breaking several laws trying to reach the land of milk and honey.

 So the only way we're granting asylum to people is if Ireland/Iceland goes to absolute shit.
