Giggs wont play as much as he did last year, due to Gibson and Carrick getting more games/ being more consistant as even though Carrick played alot last season his form meant Giggs played more than Fergie wouldve liked. and Cleverly possibly being kept.

on the basis of yesterdays game, Owen looks finished, however people have probably said that every season since he left Real. he just didnt look right at all, but saying all this he is coming back from Injury and hasnt really had a pre-season.

Berbatov is still pretty one paced but as per usaul his class was undeniable if nopt frustrating at times.

Rooney was energetic did well,

Scholes was impressive from that holding role sort of position dictating the play, but we will be found out playinglike this, i cant remember what manager it was, but a couple years ago someone came out and said the way to beat Chelsea was to put a marker on Makelele as even though he doesnt pose a huge goal threat most of t=he moves start with him, if a team do the same to Scholes it'll stifle us a little bit.

Valencia was imense, my man of the match to be honest. going forward and defensivly, excellent game.

Carrick was fantastic and looked like getting back to his old self, hopefully he kicks on from here. excellent passer of the ball.

Park ran around alot, (you gotta love him)

Hernandez was very lively, but his direction in training should be to learn from Owen's movement, i think Owen will get between 6-10 goals for us this season but his greatest contribution for us this time out could be to try to improve Hernandez's on field intelligence, because if Hernandez's movement was a little better he'd be a riddiculous player to play against (and his movement is decent already)

Chelsea wern't very impressive, defensivly they looked horrible, Ashley cole in particular.

Mikel is a fraud.

Essien is beastly

Lampard was irrelevent,

im thinking Malouda will play in the mid 3 with Essien and Lampard.

and benayoun will be up top with Drogba and Anelka, Sturridge looked good when he came on, this has to be his seasn.

saying all that though i can see them diving into the market as they seem to have less options than us coming of the bench, difference being they have money to rectify that.

the team that gets Ozil will win the league.

it really could swing on somthing as simple as that.

highlight of the game was me with a couple drinks in me going off at some prick wearing a AON shirt with a Love united hate Glazer sticker covering the "o" of AON

with the way things are going.

if you was a neutral fan, and had the chance to go to Barca, who even in a quite succesfull season still went out and got Villa one of the best Strikers in the world,

and made moves for Cesc imo one of the best Midfielders in the world,

or come to Manchester United, who keep harping on about finding true value in a transfer market,

who would you go to.

Plus the way Barca play and the players that are there, its gonna be a dream for certain players to be apart of that.

Theres a lot of uncertainty about United mid to long term, whereas even though Barca have big debts, they are no where near ares, and are still showing real ambition in the transfer market and putting out real signals of intent.

if he chose to go there instead of OT i'd be very pissed off, but i can easily see why.
