Fergie not having a bar lol

Sir Alex Ferguson has accused the Football Association of treating Manchester United unfairly.

The United manager, hit with a five-match touchline ban last season, made the claims while talking about having up to eight players on England duty.

Ferguson, 69, said: "The FA may realise who has produced more players for their country than any club in the world.

"Maybe they will realise how important we are to England instead of treating us like s***."

Ferguson's comments came as he spoke about the number of his players who could be called up by England this weekend.

Manager Fabio Capello is due to name his squad for next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales on Sunday evening, and United could have as many as eight representatives.

Ferguson is delighted with that but took the opportunity to criticise the FA over the punishments handed out to the club last season.

"It's not a problem, it's fantastic," he added. "Maybe they will realise how important we are to England.

"I am pleased for the players. They are outstanding."

City new boy Samir Nasri snubbed by rivals United - Exclusive

Manchester CITY new boy Samir Nasri was SNUBBED by rivals United – after he reneged on an initial promise to sign for them.

Nasri went cap in hand back to Old Trafford when he feared his £24m move to the Etihad was about to collapse due to a dispute over agent fees.

But furious United chiefs slammed the door in the Frenchman’s face despite him making a personal plea to revive the deal with the champions.

People Sport has been told the full bombshell details of Nasri’s negotiations with both Manchester clubs – as the Frenchman prepares to make his City debut at Tottenham today.

We have learned that the French midfielder personally agreed a £7m-a-year deal with Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

We can reveal Nasri is being paid almost £40,000-a-week MORE at City than he would have earned at United, making a mockery of the player’s claim that his move from Arsenal was for football, rather than financial, reasons.

Fergie and Nasri met in Paris during the summer with the player’s representatives in tow and after a deal was thrashed out the player confirmed he was thrilled at the prospect of becoming a United player.

The transfer stalled – and later collapsed altogether – when Nasri’s agents insisted on a massive £4m tax-free as their cut.

United refused to cough up the cash, leaving the way clear for moneybags City to make a more lucrative, £9m-a-year offer.

Nasri quickly agreed the terms but then, remarkably, his switch to the Etihad Stadium also came close to falling through over his agents’ demands.

City were reluctant to pay up and it was at that point that Nasri himself contacted United and tried to reignite his move there.

But the Old Trafford hierarchy, furious at the player’s change of heart, were having none of it.

Unimpressed by Nasri’s agents’ behaviour and the player’s willingness to chase more money from City, they told him in no uncertain terms that they were not interested.

That left Nasri in limbo and he turned out for Arsenal in their 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool eight days ago.

Only when City later agreed to meet the agents’ demands was Nasri able to complete his move north.

could this not open up a tapping up case?

In related news, the tapping up rule is a load of sh*t anyway, where do you draw the line?

on International duty i'll be sure that players for certain clubs are "advised" by the manager to "have a word" with certain other players.

then of course we have the fact that agents represent multiple clients, so what/who a particular agent and club are talking about can never really be determined unless theres cameras in the room

Guest M12 Part 2

Tapping up is how EVERY transfer happens. The player nearly always knows which clubs are interested and whether a bid is coming unless they are being forced out. Lol at thinking this is football manager where a fax goes through to the club and then the player has to agree terms. The club find out about the potential transfer after the player and his agent and it makes sense this way. Imagine going through intense negotiations and reaching a fee only to fin out the player has no intention of coming or his wage demands are far outside your structure.

lol tapping up?

What's to say that article is true?

I merely asked the question, that under the assumption the story is legit, would there be a tapping up case to be answered.

the tapping up talk afterwards was started by me saying "in related news"

no one said the story is 100% legit

Well bearing in mind he didn't even join you, a case is even less likely isn't it?

Doesnt mean we didnt Tap him up.

not every tapped up player goes to the club thats guilty of tapping up said player.

as i said in the intial comment anyway, the law on "tapping up" is on its ass anyway. as M12 said every deal done in football probably has a degree of tapping up linked to it.
