Brand is dangerous IMO because he has a voice but it's an uneducated voice and people that are either too lazy or too defeatist to educated themselves on politics jump on the back of what he says because he places poetic words together, is a little eccentric and considers himself anti-establishment which in a current disenfranchised politicl environment works.
One thing that drives my point home is, in the Newsnight interview especially, is when Evan Davis reads an excerpt of his book where he suggests taking back General Motors from it's shareholders. He evidently didn't even bother researching this because, post-big three bailout, the UAW Union, a trade union, took a larger stake in General Motors so in essence taking some ownership away from the 'corporation' like Brand was advocating. Not understanding the point he calls it an "administrative quibble". What the fuck?! For a man to have a voice on the political system despite having absolutely no understanding of politics, business or economics is astounding. I'm all for an independent voice that challenges the status quo, Owen Jones being the best current example, but for so many people to blindly follow Russell Brand is farcical.
