spoke to my friend in napa on friday night, its kinda deadout out there atm, but 1st arrivals are coming today.

tempted to go out on my own for a week in july or august cos il be stayin in her apartment,dunno though,,,, cant make my mind up.

Last year was the deadest its been ever IME, due to swine flu and economy etc, I think it will be dead again this year due to music scene. Cant be still playing Funky Tunes from 08. Its always gone through phases the longest being the garage era, then was grime for 2 years, 08 was Bassline/Funky, 09 was Funky. And due to Funky not really developing since 08 can see it being dead, not to say it will be empy just not as busy as it used to be

BTW, about the race thing: when I was there with my parents about 8 years ago, I am 99% sure I heard some Spanish woman calling me a gringo So even us white folk aren't too popular over there.

I went about 2 years ago with my girl, was the first time I went so did mostly the tourist stuff. The tourist buses are good value, get a 2 day pass, there are 3 routes that overlap and stop at all the main spots and u just hop on and off when you want.

gothic quarter is good to just walk around and explore, came across a church during some kind of religious day, went inside and it had a garden with pond, ducks and loads of extravagant flowers.

The olympic stadium was strange as its such a vast open space, yet when I was there it was deserted so felt quite surreal compared to some of the more hectic parts of the city.

Great views from the art museum towards the north of the city, forget whats its called tho. I also didn't like las ramblas, was a bit tacky, felt like the spanish version of Leicester square altho there is cool market adjacent to it.

i went to ny alone last year, i was interning though so i didn't have that many free days. you'll be fine, there's so much to see and do out there plus yanks are so friendly anyway, i doubt you'll feel "lonely".

do not go by eurostar

ryaniar/easyjet usually do cheap flights out there

www.hotels.nl - check their, have loadsa cheap places to stay, or you could go for the even cheaper option an stay in a hostel if your on a budget but you shouldnt need to really

You might wanna check out a hotel called Hotel Atlas...stayed in there the first time I went, overlooked Vondelpark, was a sick view...think it only worked out like £80 for 3 nights

My girl was talking to her friend about Dominican Republic. Her friend said her aunt went for five weeks and £300 was more than enough. I was thinking of taking £600

I also hear that the women out there are brazen and overly forward. All taking off tops and bikins on the beach to get your attention. If they look like Tahiry, my girl is in trouble.

I've booked up Dam for June. Staying at Citizen M hotel. It's like 20 minutes from town centre but it's quite (100 per night), has won loads of design and hosptiality awards, has free movies and pron on the TV and huge beds.
