Arsenal Summer Transfer Window

panish journalist and Gunner Kike Marin has claimed that Arsenal have offered €60m to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the current transfer window. The acquisition would surely make Arsenal favourites to win the Premier League title, if they are not already.

However, the amount is almost exactly the same, the only difference likely to be down to conversion, as what The Sun claimed several days ago. The British newspaper said Arsenal were 'eyeing a shock £42m' move for the player.

German newspaper Bild responded to that story immediately, converting it to €57m, saying it was hard to imagine Dortmund selling the player during the current transfer window.

As a follow up to that and several other Premier League links with Bundesliga stars, Bild then said that for Arsenal to buy Aubameyang now, the cost would be €80m.

Rumours surrounding Aubameyang were given what looks to be false encouragement this week when the striker missed Dortmund training, with the German club saying it was for personal reasons.

Dortmund had at first not seen the need to clarify where Aubamenyang was, saying he'd be back the following day... which wasn't entirely true. Dortmund knew he wouldn't be back because they'd given the player a couple of days off to attend an award ceremony in Africa, and from there he would join their winter training camp in Dubai, there being little reason to return to Germany.

Aubameyang confirmed his trip to Africa himself, posting an image of himself blinged-up on a private jet. Dortmund had appeared irritated by claims in the British media that the player's absence was somehow related to a transfer, but if they hadn't been so stubborn and just spitted out the real reason originally then they needn't have gone through the annoyance.

Watching Flamini was pain on Wednesday.

One point he was highest player up the field making supporting runs without the ball, we lost it and Lallana had a free run at our back 3.

And I read something about this Elneny guy being slightly undisciplined & more box to box...

“He is 23 years old and has already got Champions League, Europa League and Swiss League experience. He is a player who is adaptable in midfield.

“He can be box to box and be a holding midfielder so that is for us very promising. We wanted a versatile player and I wanted a player who can play defensive but can as well play to box to box.

“His strengths are his technical level, his vision, his intelligence, his disciplined attitude and his physical attitude to compete at a high level. I think he has the physical qualities to play at the top level.

“Where he needs to adapt is to the challenges, the force needed in the Premier League to survive. I think that could demand a little bit of adaptation. But overall I think he has all the attributes to do well.”

Salah, who had joined Basel from El Mokawloon in the summer of 2012, was outgoing and confident, always talking and joking. Elneny spoke only in Arabic and Salah acted both as his translator and big brother-style chaperone.

Elneny did enough to win a four-year contract at the end of the season, with Basel paying €800,000 for him, but it was, paradoxically, after Salah left for Chelsea in January 2014 that he emerged from his shell. Elneny was forced to talk directly to the people at the club; his English improved and his integration was fast-tracked. His English is now very good.

Hmm yeh I hear you. Had his first training session vid with that arabian music in the background lol.

  I wonder what the poor translations were - I heard the guy in the press conference.

I always wonder what these journalists do in England on their day to day, outside of the times they come to the press conferences to ask their one question about Sanchez or their one question about Elneny.
