Looks like Walker is signing and it looks like it is just a loan.Odd one because although Spurs clearly want him to have Prem experience he's not gonna be a guarenteed starter every game.Saying that, Houllier was quoted as saying he wants pacier options at fullback in order to start attacks from deep. It'd seem his preferred formation is 4-2-3-1 with wingbacks so maybe it does make sense so we can start using this system now and then add someone in the Summer he's after.

i rekon carrol would make a good crouch replacement..... not our new #1 striker thowould take Carroll for 10m + crouch... infact if they would take crouch id give them another 5m just for the favour.

I think Crouch gets unfairly judged by the Spurs fans. Not saying Crouch is great, or that he doesnt make the teams he plays for, change their play somewhat, but he is a good option, with a bit of pedigree.Caroll would be great for Tottenham, providing 'arry doesnt let the bright London lights get him or missing Geordieland.

Carlos Vela has ten clubs from home and abroad chasing him on loan but Arsène Wenger would prefer him to stay in England. The Arsenal manager has had a number of approaches since he confirmed, last week, that the 21-year-old Mexican striker would be allowed to make a temporary move in January. “Three or four” English clubs have contacted Wenger, presumably including Bolton, along with a further six or seven from France and Spain. In fact, the weight of interest has complicated the process. Wenger has already stated that playing time will be the crucial factor for him but Vela has a say too. “There are plenty of clubs [interested],” said the Frenchman. “We have a choice and that is basically the problem because he has the choice as well. “At the moment we have requests from France, Spain and England which we have to sort out. There are about ten clubs interested. There are about three or four in the Premier League. “I would prefer [him to stay in England] because for us it is easier to watch him and come to conclusions. It is much easier to compare in the Premier League than if he goes to another country. “But we need him to feel comfortable to go where he would like to go. “When players of his quality [are available] on loan in a market that is very restricted money-wise, you have an abundance of clubs who want them.” Wenger added that Vela is in the squad for the FA Cup tie with Leeds on Saturday.
Arsène Wenger admits Manuel Almunia’s future at Arsenal is uncertain. The Spaniard has not played for the Club since the 3-2 defeat against West Brom in September and is currently sidelined with an ankle problem. After speaking to the goalkeeper, Wenger is unsure whether Alumina will remain at Emirates Stadium. “We are in no-man’s land at the moment on that front,” he said at his pre-match press conference on Friday. “I have had a chat with him but nothing is decided. “There is a small chance [he could leave]. I will let you know [how I feel] if he leaves.”
Arsène Wenger says Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is likely to go out on loan this month to gain Premier League experience. Despite his superb goalscoring form for the Reserves this season, the talented youngster has found first-team opportunities hard to come by with just four substitute appearances to his name. The Arsenal manager is set to send Carlos Vela on loan in January and confirmed that Emmanuel-Thomas will make a similar move. “He is likely to go out on loan as well,” said Wenger.
Arsène Wenger has confirmed that Wellington will be sent on loan to a Spanish club after having his application for a work permit turned down. The 17-year-old Brazilian striker isn’t allowed to play in England until the application is granted and, in the meantime, Wenger wants him to continue his development in Spain. Wellington will follow in the footsteps of Carlos Vela who spent a season at Segunda Division side Salamanca after his move from Mexico. “He has been turned down for a work permit and that means he cannot play in England,” said Wenger. “He will certainly go to Spain on loan.“You can only ask for one work permit per season so we have to wait at least until the end of the season to come back.“Hopefully he does well in the Spanish championship and we have a better chance with the work permit.”
