I think what's more crazy is the process by how it happened.

One's identity doesn't begin or end with a surname imo.

i see the name ohuruogu i instantly know that is a name from nigerian origin and most likely someone from the yoruba tribe

i see the name nortey i instantly know thats a ghanaian name by origin and most likely from the asante tribe

i see the name williams - and God knows wa gwan

Every name has a story, my surname originates from Norfolk in this country.

It tells it's own story whilst might not be pleasant is the story nonetheless.

On the positive my name tells me my ancestors survived some of the harshest conditions for centuries and must be strong people, it isn't all negative.
