Detrimental to United and the best striker in the world are very different accolades. You compare apples and oranges a lot.

You misunderstood again so it's business as usual on your part.

I'm saying that it's not always as simple as looking at the goals scored and assists figures to judge someone's contribution to a team game, context is everything.

How that relates to Rooney is that at this moment in time I'd imagine he's your highest scorer and maybe has the most assists but Agony has been saying for a long time that he's detrimental to the team.

Flojo, if I have to take into context the team that Suarez plays once a week for in comparison to the other teams shouldn't you take into context the fact that the Dutch squad always turns up to tournaments with a bunch of issues surrounding them. (http://m.spiegel.de/international/europe/a-838484.html#spRedirectedFrom=www&referrrer=( https://www.google.co.uk/ ). Not saying that's the sole reason for RVP's lack of goals but I'm just taking everything into context.

As for Rooney you're counter argument me saying Rooney is detrimental to the TEAM is bringing up his INDIVIDUAL stats. But what style of football is the team being forced to play, what league position is the team currently in right now with Rooney as the focal point of our attack and in the past when Rooney has been the focal point of our attack and scored the most goals where has the team finished in May?

Anyway back to the original point, Suarez being a bottom 7 team bully and scoring 16 out of his 19 goals against them isn't good enough to justify the #PLhype.

After what hes done to United in the past, your the last person who should be bringing up 'big games'.

In the game that Kuyt scored a hat trick for example he got 2 or 3 assists, and twisted Evra and co inside out, yet Kuyt would get the plaudits for scoring 3 tap ins, when Suarez was the best player on the pitch that day.

The more this season goes on, the more foolish some people will look.

How so?

The big game argument is used against everyone when they start hitting otherworldly form, the same was said about Ronaldo a couple seasons back.

Suarez will end up this season, as the biggest scorer in Pl history having missed the first 5 games and then go rip the World Cup, people who doubt his ability will be left looking stupid as i said.

Adam has injured our players 5 times

bale twice

vertonghen

Parker

+ Paulinho

look how disgusting all the challenges are as well smh

Adam Hates Spurs

I'm surprised that nobody has made more of yet another appalling challenge by Charlie Adam against a Spurs player this weekend.

I'm not entirely sure what Charlie Adam's problem with Spurs is, but he has a long track record of poor behaviour when up against Tottenham...is he just a rubbish player who accidentally hacks everybody or does he have a genuine problem with the club? Mad to even think it I suppose, but see the following:

- During the 10/11 season, he broke Gareth Bale's ankle in a late challenge whilst playing for Blackpool at WHL.

- In 11/12 season, whilst playing for Liverpool, he was sent off for two bookings within the first half an hour. The second of which he booted Scott Parker just below the knee in a very dangerous challenge.

- Preseason before 12/13, he caught Gareth Bale in an otherwise pedestrian friendly played in 38 degree heat in Baltimore...this was again for Liverpool shortly before transferring to Stoke. Bale demanded an apology for the OTT challenge but this wasn't forthcoming.

- During the 12/13 season, he was sent off for two cynical fouls on Jan Vertonghen (Bale was too good to get close to by then), the second of which was a snide boot in the legs from behind.

- 13/14, within minutes of coming on the WHL pitch, he fouls Paulinho who then went off and is facing a lengthy lay off.

Just thought I'd throw this out there as I haven't seen any widespread condemnation of his behaviour before.

I expected you to counter with some context regarding RVP because the context is important which is exactly my point.

We're both talking about the individual performance of both Rooney and Suarez in the context of a team game.

I agree with you to an extent about Rooney but playing devil's advocate I could of course rely solely on the stats (like many people will do) to say he's your saviour.

Suarez isn't the best in the world but this isn't PL hype, we're talking about a player who's performed on the world stage.

I thought it would be worth comparing Suarez and RVP in the big games, apps, goals scored and at the end their ratio of involvement per goal to games.

Suarez

Everton Apps 5 Scored 4 assisted 3 1.4

Chelsea Apps 6 Scored 2 assisted 3 0.83

Spurs Apps 6 scored 3 assisted 4 1.16

Man City Apps 5 scored 1 assisted 0 0.2

Arsenal Apps 6 scored 2 assisted 0 0.33

Man United Apps 6 scored 1 assisted 2 0.5

Robin van Persie

Liverpool Apps 14 Scored 6 Assists 1 - 0.5

Spurs Apps 16 Scored 6 Assisted 5 - 0.68

Chelsea Apps 19 Scored 6 Assisted 0 - 0.315

Man City Apps 13 scored 2 assisted 0 - 0.15

Man United Apps 13 Scored 4 Assisted 2 -  0.46

Arsenal Apps 3 Scored 3 assisted 0 - 1

I also thought it was worth mentioning Suarez' record in the CL with Ajax

2010-2011 9 Apps scored 4

2007-2008 2 Apps scored 1

Who has ever said anything about Ronaldo not turning up in big games tho,

:lmao:

That's never been in doubt.

People were saying he this a few seasons back when he first joined Madrid.

Also his big game record in England isn't better than Suarez he hardly ever turned up against Liverpool for example, just saying.
