Getting the apps on there aint the problem. Its the interface. Those installed apps doesn't seem to show up on the main screen. You need to go into the setting apps menu to retrieve it.

I got the kodi on there no. It shows under recent apps. Would be nice if the fire  interface could be modified

You mean simultaneously, right? I shopped around and they all say only one connection at a time. You can set up on as many devices as you want though. Just gotta be used one at a time.
