EU Migrant crisis

The housing shortage is all one big money laundering flip, its only there on paper not like that in reality, but thats a different argument for a different day.

If the government use peoples taxes to pay for some 16 year olds flat then why cant they do the same for warn torn refugees who apply through the right channels ? There are plenty of city center apartments almost always availible all year round throughout the country.... ( i know some insurers also do this to some people in "extreme" housing situations).

Such a bug fuss about 4k refugees when there are 2.3m economic eu migrants in this country and last year 250k fresh ones entered with a big smile using wizzair

I disagree, this country is extremely overcrowded. Especially in the South-East, and major metropolitan centres, where most migrants would like to settle. This country cannot take a net migration rate of over 300,000 every year.

Those properties are privately held. Are you proposing the Government seieze them? Or that Government (Meaning us) pay the market rate to house some migrants in those unoccupied properties?

Because in the first place they are not refugees, they are migrants, economic migrants. The father of the young lad who died has gone back to Kobane. The whole family lived in Turkey for three years, supported by family living in Canada. He only wanted to come to Europe to access some dental health, and then go on to Canada. He wasn't exaclty fleeing ISIS for the past three years was he?

Why are the vast majority of the people we see men. Are they fleeing places so bad that they had to leave behind their wives and daughters and sisters?

Precisely, they have not applied through the right channels have they? They are just looking to go to the most genenours countries.

Charity begins at home. They are hundred of thousands of people on waiting lists to get social housing. Should an economic migrant who has skipped Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany and France get priority over a British citizen?

300k eu migrants yeah ? (Which we arent talking about btw)... The funniest thing is that the uk could easily handle it if that big giant elephant that no one talks about called old people wernt gettig stronger and stronger... This country has one of the highest ageing populations, for every 300k immigrants and an extra 150k a year hitting 65... The estimated over 70 population is expected to rise by nearly 4m in the next 15 years.... My maths isnt that great but that is almost the same amount of people coming into the country as people who can no longer work in this country. (Obviously im a hypocrite and wish my friends, family, myself and even you guys the longest in life) but that is an undeniable fact right there which is one of the biggest unspoken reasons why there is a "shortage"

No the government shouldn't seize them but it should look into how it lets certain developers purchase land and build on it to let housing, when they could do the same thing saving money longer term instead of making a quick buck and driving property prices sky high. I have no problem seeing tax spent on housing refugees for a period to allow them onto there feet in this country, rather that them some slag pushing out future prison fodder.

I dont know why the vast majority you see are men.. As Half of the 1.9m refugees who have fled Syria and are now in turkey are children(as stated on the UN website).

You guys keep mixing up these guys leaving on boats from Libya etc... Who come from countries like Nigeria, Somalia, Eritrea and Afghanistan that are trying to get to countries such as Germany and Sweden (most likely because they have family there).... Yes some do want to get to the uk but a very small percentage and id be against accepting those but just because it will piss of xenophobes ima say let them in... With the actual refugees who aren't fleeing isis as most of them fled Syria when the UK got involved with Asad.

Being stuck in a refugee camp might be safer then a war zone but a refugee camp isnt safe especially when the war doesnt look like ending, how long do you wait it out, how many countries do you apply asylum for ?

Looks like most coming off this train are economic migrants, don't see many women and children

How you going to offer housing to refugees when you can't even house your own people, common sense should prevail

The people wanting unlimited immigration just want the downfall of this country, should just be honest and say it

Ok so some of these people haven't flies flying around their mouth or got lymphatic problems that causes their stomachs to bloat like the impoverished children in Africa

Doesn't mean they aren't poor refugees

Some dumb post. Does a smart fone mean u made it? Does it put a roof over ur head during civil war?

Poor refugees wouldn't be able to spend £5000 to get into another country pal.

Poor refugees that pay thousands of dollars to leave tourist resorts? OK then. The poorest Syrian refugees, the ones that need our help the most, are still living in refugee camps.

Why are millions of men of fighting age trying to get to western europe. They could easily be armed to defeat ISIS. And yet David Cameron wants British men to lay down their lives for a conflict that has nothing to do with them.

Moreover, how many of these men fought for ISIS? How many of them are battle-hardened, even if they fought for another side. It is hard enough to reintegrate British vets coming back from war with PTSD, how much more so for men from a completely foreign culture, with a completely different, and dare I say backwards value system?

 they might have been funded by their whole village/neighborhood. U think they won't work in a minimum wage job(for yearrrrs) and pay that back to their relatives or something.

This crisis is similar to the Yugoslavia conflict of the 90's people need a chance. A lot of people leaving are political refugees as well whose whole family has been killed by the rebels

Only negative I see in this shit is a bunch of Isis members could be disguised and enter the western world
