Isn't Brian Mclaire the current head of youth development?

Yh he is

Kompressor do you think you currently play attractive and imaginative football or was you being sarcastic?

No I don't think the football being played is attractive or imaginative. When compared with the other top United teams of my lifetime it's actually abysmal.

The first line if my post was a prediction, as if the style of football we've seen over the last few seasons continues a certain number of united fans will look back at 19 & 20 and attach excitement and good play to them and blame the new regime for the "change" in style, "as Fergie always looks to play attractive and attacking football"

I'm not as negative about the Football we have been playing in recent times TBH. We don't look as strong or creative yea but we don't have guys like Ronaldo in the team any more. Still think we play good attacking Football though.

It seems like here and elsewhere people are just looking for reasons to doubt and throw stones at Moyes before he even sits in the seat.

If its not broke dont fix it. I can see why people are sceptical. I agree with what you've said on the whole though, our style hasn't been attractive as in the past but I didn't hear any criticisms of rene or the team for that until now.

OK Thought so. There's been a distinct lack of quality since Ronaldo left

Sad thing is he's not the only one i've heard/seen saying things like that.

The people who were instrumental in Moyes being chosen to take over would've been aware that he'd make changes to the coaching staff.

Fair play to Moyes for having the balls to stand by his convictions. He could stick by the current regime and change his role to a more hands off one and let Phelen and Rene continue to take charge of coaching and training but then if he was to go on a bad run of games it wouldn't be Rene and Phelen who cop the blame. People would then come out and say he's living in Fergie's shadow and was weak for not getting his own people in.

As I said the man hasn't even say down at his desk yet and people are already setting themselves up for a "Moyes out" campaign within the next year.

I'd be more worried if Moyes came in and tiptoed around the current set up and was acting like he was scared to change anything. At least this way he will succeed or fail by his own terms. He deserves a fair shot (probably impossible) this means at least 3 years.

If the quality of play improves, Youth team players are given a chance and progress is constant.......

Well you can talk about him 'Making changes' but at the end of the day he's coming in, flushed out all the winning United backroom staff, and is bringing all his Everton staff who will probably get us playing like Everton did, and what exactly have they won for it? Don't even wanna hear about no budgets he had right now.

What pisses me off about United fans is the way they act.

"Ahh not our best team", "We're not playing well", "We need so many signings" "Ahh we keep letting in goals" "Wayne is finished" "Rio is old" "Nani is  wasted"

It's like winning the Premier Leauge isn't even good enough for you anymore.

You think you're bigger than the league.

Overestimating your stature as a club because you think you won the league with a poor team and look down at everyone.

You need a reality check most of you and it will please me no end to see you go 5+ years without success.

a club as big as man utd should be running away with the domestic league and challenging for CL titles ala Bayern and Juve

Yep hence room for improvement and complaining. No United Fan rolls over and accepts a loss. My age group and below have had a life time of being winners and we won't accept nothing less. Who in their right mind would wanna be humbled by going 5 years + without a trophy? Were not Arsenal Fans out here. Was bad enough City winning last season.

moyes is on some silly movements...

so what his first proper game in charge is against wigan in the charity shield

if we lose that then im certainly anti-moyes

pathetic

not really, when moyes has got rid of most of are backroom staff that was half decent with rene and eric steele..

i've never really been a mike phelan fan I always thought he was middle of the road

so chris woods to take over from eric steele

and phil neville to take over from rene

interesting

When you hire a manager, you have to accept that you hire his close staff / methods of training etc.

My comment was towards your going against Moyes after one game, the guy hasn't even got the crest sewn into his suit and there's a moyes-out campaign in the wind.

Aint it funny that Gary Neville's opinion never really got respected until he became a pundit on sky sports. Now all you hear people say is he talks so much sense.

And here people are saying f*ck Phil Neville when in reality it could end up being a really smart move.

He's English though. Literally the only reason. No one on this site has any idea about the merits of Phil Neville compared to Rene Mulensteen.

People would be buzzing had, I don't know, Rafael Alkorta (random Spanish defender from the 90's) been appointed by Moyes.
