i5_PRODUCER
How would you lot want Hollow to line up saturday? If he some reason dropped Rooney I would offer him the rest of Moyes 5 year deal He was saying he wants to play the man utd, said attack, quick tempo, pace, and taking players on and running at them Surely he won't start Valencia or Young or Fellaini at least Would like to see Cleverly next to Carrick with the shackles off Nani and Adnan too Was thinking this , the Rooney bit. I wonder what he thinks of his performances in that role. Surely he must see there are better 10's available. // Shud go ADNAN WELBS NANI MATA CARRICK CLEVS/KAGS EVRA JONES SMALLING BUTTNER

Mame Biram Diouf
Both Ian Ladyman and Mark Ogden, who have been first with a lot of Manchester United news this season, have reported details about who Ryan Giggs will start against Norwich on Saturday. Tom Cleverley is set to start in an attacking central midfield role alongside Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck will start up top with Wayne Rooney, leaving Adnan Januzaj and one other winger in a traditional 4-4-2 formation. Giggs has played 4-4-2 for pretty much his entire career under Sir Alex Ferguson so it is not a surprise to hear his preference might be for that system but this United does not have the players to get the best out of that formation. As for the player selection, it would be no surprise to see academy graduates Welbeck and Cleverley put straight back in the team. Expect to see James Wilson involved at some point between now and the end of the season too.

Kompressor
scuse the tin foil hat but im starting to think this was all planned - have some sackable chump in charge for the first year, Keep hearing this talk of, the ideal job was always the man after the man that took over fergie Hmm, he was always a patsy, no way did they imagine he'd make way after 10 months though. From that article posted about his plans for the youth team, either it's bullshit or the club must've realised his intentions very very early into his reign, I'm talking a couple months in at latest. Isn't that one of the first things disscused with a new manager, especially one who's been given a SIX year contract. Anyway hopefully the due dilligence is done before Larry White gets the job next season.
darkman
Gill didn't want Moyes in the first place. People have said they aren't as close as they used to be, Fergie is probably quietly relieved Moyes has gone. Why would he be relieved? The transition has gone worse than anyone could've imagined, if he had a time machine he'd probably go back and make a different decision. However it would've done him no good to flip flop on his decision given how much he's said about sacking managers early and his work with certain managers and organisations. The club making the decision meant that he didn't have to. If it comes out that he triggered the sacking it'd just reinforce his duplicitous nature, don't think that's the case here though. But he was Ferguson's choice who said the manager needs to be supported when times get tough According to you they had a lot in common and would have agreed on many aspects I fail to see how Ferguson would be relieved / Who do you think should be next manager? Do you think the next manager will be backed financially? Would you say Moyes was backed financially?

Mame Biram Diouf
He isn't ready for the job yet This country is too quick too give chances If he wants it he will wait and if he is good enough he will earn it Let him be reserve manager for a couple seasons and see how he gets on, will have a chance to test out his own philosophy, get to know the future players who he may want to use when he gets the full job Make him also be around Van Gaals first coaching team on match days, send him to watch over clubs like Dortmund, Ajax, Barce etc and see how they train Pep had to earn his chance, don't see why Giggs should be any different Giving him the job now because of his name will just be a disaster imo Only manager it would work with is Van Gaa l though because he would only want a couple years, no point going for someone like Klopp or Conte with Giggs shadow looming over them waiting for them to fuck up so he can take over

The next manager will have to be backed financially, United have spent the money this season there's no doubting or questioning that, Don't want to get into a Glazer debate right now as Googlebox is on, so I'll strike first and leave quickly, it wasn't Glazer money, it was United money, "ohh well the club is there's so it is there money" the bank would argue that the club isn't their possession yet. Also the net transfer spend per season under the Glazer's (so for the last 9 years) has been roughly 22 million. (This doesn't include the Mata deal as the figures were from before that) "Ohh but that's still plenty" Yes and I'd like a footballing world where stupid money wasn't thrown round by clubs as if they were drunk millionaire virgins in a strip club but when you consider that around triple that sum has been leaving the club every season paying off debt you wonder if it really is that much. The club still being successful during their ownership and the commercial success and increases have been done to death too.

Fresh
I hear that money thing but Moyes inherited a squad of Champions and strengthened it. I don't see why the next manager needs this 9 figure overhaul
Kompressor
People need to leave this Pep thing. Different club, different infrastructure, different circumstances, different man. Just like the class of 92 what happened with Pep wasn't the norm it was the exception. Giggs may well up morale and get the players "playing for him" but he needs to learn his trade before he's put in a position to damage future aspirations. Why are people contemplating a reality where The biggest club in the world The best run club in the world go from employing a manager who's won nothing to employing a man who's never managed? People were talking a lot more sense in 2002. What's changed in the clubs make up since then? People talk about expectations and Moyes' being low and negative, the idea that Giggs will lead United for more than 4 games will signify a huge drop in expectation and outlook.

I don't see why the next manager needs this 9 figure overhaulYou have a point. HoweverFerdinand Vidic Evra (That a shortlist of players possibly heading out the door) Are all still prominent first team players and need replacing, mainly down age, 2 Centre midfielders? That will set you back a decent amount. 1 centre back 20 mill, 1 or maybe 2 left backs (if Evra leaves) 20 plus add one for Shaw, 1 quality Centre midfielder could fill the void for now 20-30? That's already 70 million. Add a (United tax & a desperation tax to that) Yes two players were added, but they were added without any clear strategy or future planning IMO. Woodward has hinted at the Mata deal being opportunistic.
Agony
Meulensteen would fancy a return to United Saturday, April 26, 2014 By Ben Lyttleton Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen is open to a return to Old Trafford and has claimed David Moyes failed at the club because he ignored advice from the Dutchman. Meulensteen, who had a short spell as Fulham coach earlier this season, claimed that had United appointed a top-name coach last summer, they would still be in contention for the Premier League title, rather than in seventh place and with a chance of failing to make the Europa League places. “I’m open to it, of course,” said Meulensteen, pictured, of a possible return to Old Trafford, where he had a good relationship with Robin van Persie and has already spoken to new United boss Ryan Giggs. “I didn’t leave Manchester United because I wasn’t satisfied with the club. I left because I got the feeling my position at United would be undermined and hollowed out, right from the first conversation I had with Moyes. “Moyes ignored all the well-intentioned advice me and other people who were successful at the club for years. We could have made his life as United manager so much easier. But he wanted to do things his own way. These are the consequences. If the next manager thinks I can be of value to the club, then I’d be up for it.” Meulensteen spent over 10 years as a coach at United, the last six of which were with the senior team. He knows Giggs well and told Dutch magazine Voetbal International he has spent a lot of time on the phone to the Welsh boss. “This week me and Ryan Giggs spoke about everything,” he continued. “Ryan can grow to become an excellent manager at United. He knows the club, the culture and the style of play that made the club successful, and he has the charisma like no-one else. “He isn’t extrovert, but everyone listens to him when he says something. I expect Ryan to be a Ferguson-type manager. Not someone whose strength it is to do training and coaching, but someone who can gather a strong team around him.” Meulensteen does not expect Giggs to get the job full-time – at least not right now. “If you make his position permanent, you can start building something again. But that takes time, you need patience. In my eyes, it’s more likely the Glazers will want to compete again as fast as possible. And then you go CV-hunting, with names like Van Gaal, Conte, Ancelotti and Blanc.” Meulensteen saved his most stinging criticism for Moyes by comparing him to other big-name coaches, wondering what they would have done with the same squad of Premier League champions Moyes inherited from Ferguson. “This squad became champions with an 11-point lead last year. With a manager like Pep or Mourinho, United would still have competed at the top, I’m sure of that.” http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/meulensteen-would-fancy-a-return-to-united-266618.html
