yeah but komp surely , u will keep him at least for a year knowing u dont know the players strengths and weaknesses.....People talking about Rene, he wasn't sacked or shown the door, he was offered jobs emphasis on job(s) at the club but decided to walk.
Issue is Fergie didn't use to feature in the training ground on a day to day basis, so Rene ran things. Whereas Moyes is a hands on manager/coach. When Moyes was appointed any job would've been a demotion for Rene.
Rene was asked to stay on, he didn't want to ad he either knew or was told his role was going to be reduced. He was offered jobs he chose not to take them.
He was asked to coach the youths after being involved with the first team for a number of years. It's no wonder he walked away

Expectation weighs heavy for some man, Hodgson struggled with us for the exact same reason and rolled out the same bullshit lines to try and lower expectations.
I remember when we beat a Turkish team in the Europa (maybe Trabzonspor) and he had the cheek to say this will go down as a famous victory in Turkey for Liverpool. We won the fucking CL in the most memorable final in decades in Instanbul and he's trying to talk up a group game against Trabzonspor as a famous victory.
Some managers just aren't meant to move up a level, Moyes fits in that bracket imo.

Would be happy with anyone from that shortlist but if I had to pick 1 I'd go with Klopp although it would be interesting to see United playing a 3-5-2 under Conte.

Moyes will be in the job for the duration of his contract as long as he: 1.maintains a good relationship with Alex Ferguson, 2.Delivers Champions league qualification for each season. 3.tows the company line on the transfer policy.
Does anyone think Mourinho for instance would've kept as quiet while Woodward bumbled and fumbled his way through this summer?
AVB has just seen Spurs back him immensely over the summer, if he's smart and potential offer will be given a wide berth.
Don't know too much about De Boer's situation.
The madman at Dortmund is a good shout but he'd probably say the wrong things and upset people.
Conte is a Juve man and is building something strong there.
Neville is an interesting candidate.
All this is elementary though as Moyes will do enough to stay in a job.
I've heard a lot of people saying things like Moyes is a sideman/he plays down expectation/he's happy with mediocrity and so on. All those are fine observations but they are observations that were probably taken into account and probably swung things in his favour when Fergie's successor was chosen.
January will be big. Until then the sim should be to qualify for the next stage of the Champions league and at least keep in touching distance of the top of the league.
