Arsenal Summer Transfer Window

Former Arsenal defender and now scout for the north London side Gilles Grimandi was in attendance at the Stade de Gerland to reportedly watch Grenier on Sunday evening.

Lyon secured a Champions League play-off spot thanks to a 2-0 win that kept them in third place in Ligue 1, above St Etienne.

Clement Grenier scored the second goal, an excellent free-kick, reminiscent of Juninho Pernambucano in Lyon’s glory years of the mid-2000s.

This was Grenier’s sixth goal of the campaign and fourth in just 8 matches.

After the Lyon victory, Clement Grenier was tight-lipped on Canal+ about Arsenal’s interest “My decision will remain with me tonight. We’ll celebrate & look at that later.”

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has warned Arsenal they will have to pay £31 million in order to sign Clement Grenier this summer.

"Clement said to me that he will gave priority to Lyon if we qualify for the Champions League. So I prefer [to listen to] what he said, rather than what Arsene Wenger said," Aulas told Canal+.

"But, we have to make a financial effort to keep him. We will see after the level of our effort [that we have to do].

"If Arsene wants to have an idea of Grenier's price, I will told him that it is the same as what Bayern Munich paid for Mario Gotze - around €37 [£31m]."

He HATES our Arsene.

Clement Grienier is a decent player.

He plays with that slouching left shoulder like Krjancar, Pires etc

I haven't seen him control a game yet which gives me the impression he's a very placid team member.

Great with the ball at his feet but we all know football is more than that.

Wouldn't pay anymore than £8-12m for him.

Talented player but by no means a super quality talent.
