David Haye postpones Tyson Fury fight after suffering cut

 

David Haye has postponed next week's fight with Tyson Fury after suffering a deep cut in sparring at his training camp.

 

The cut above his left eyebrow needed six stitches, which have to stay in place for five to seven days.

 

"Gutted isn't even the word. Mentally, I'm on the floor at the moment," said the former WBA heavyweight champion.

 

Haye, 32, is awaiting further medical tests before setting a new date for the Manchester bout.

Did a good job promoting it and now is being left without the pay day he was hoping for.

Yeah never really liked him before but he comes across as a decent fella in that interview.

Coz he's not in fight hyping mode. We only ever see him when the character is turned on. He said it in the interview that he's in the game to earn money so he can spend time and live comfortably with his family. Heavyweight boxing is suffering right now due to a lack of characters who fail to garner any kind of emotion. So fights have low buyrates and the fighters get less.

He understands that this fight could well of been the biggest pay day of his career. Win or lose. Hope he gets the fight next year.
