Not really because you said the safety risks of them smashing but they cant smash

The chances of a plane crash is low anyway, chances of a plan crashing because of the windows? Almost non existent

so they're made of diamond, and can only be broken by another diamond yh? :/  they can obviously be smashed

what does the plane crashing have to do with this topic? If the window breaks, plane crash or no plane crash, passengers are getting sucked out of the aircraft and falling in excess of 30,000 feet.

some interesting points raised, but still no answers to the original question

would You fly in a plane that didn't have windows?

if a window breaks mid fight, A) there's no way a human can fit through a plane window and B ) the air in cabin would be sucked out and everyone would die instantly

the windows are made of plexiglas, i dont know what materials would be on board a flight to smash/ crack one, also they're layered

starting to think you havent been on a plane before lens mate

With a lot of effort you could put a hole in 1 but you couldnt smash it, they dont smash..the softer inner layer is tough to get through as it is but the stretched acrylic on the outside is almost impeccable, even in an emergency "axe" escape the instructions are to chop thru the metal

The reason planes have windows is for observation purposes, i.e stewardess checking to see the condition of the exterior like the engine and flaps should the pilot have reason to believe something is wrong
