Arsenal 2014/15 Thread

I was there yesterday.

Listen. The sigh of relief when Mannone was finally like "For f**k sake here have this" and gifted us the second goal. We could have stayed there til now and STILL not scored a second. 70 minutes onwards was when EVERY Arsenal fan started singing for Theo to come on. Against tired legs, Oxlade and Sanchez were countering nicely and all you needed was a touch more pace and a good finish. Even Lukas should have come on. Instead this fool waited til 83 minutes and we was against the ropes and bought on Rosicky to see it out. I normally complain we don't see out games so I suppose he was right but he should have made subs 10-15 minutes earlier and the last quarter could have been much more comfortable.

I haven't seen MOTD so don't know what the highlights showed, but we had enough chances to bury the game mid second half and the last 15 minutes we easily could have wrapped it up 10 times over. Santi was criminal with his chances.

When Porchy said Sanchez could surpass Henry I laughed. F**king hell he's AWESOME. When one on one for the first I thought he's gonna slot it to the side and maybe miss. The finish was NICE.

Hopefully Theo can still run, finish and has not lost his greed (only in this Arsenal team is Theo Walcott a greedy player).

Plus Theo returning and getting up to full side, I assume will mean Alexis going in the #10, Mesut/Santi on the left.

Less said about Oxlade too tbh.

Rosicky was the right sub, I can hear the argument for earlier, but he was in a catch 22 cos he knew that game wasn't finishing 1-0. Oxlade's running was bringing chances but he was fading, Wenger wanted to use every minute he could out of them until something happened for better or worse, so he went late with Rosicky effectively to shore up.

As Campbell or Podolski, was only getting drawn for if they scored. Cos then your chasing something and you aint gotta worry about the lack of work rate.

I didn't mind Balotelli links when he played against England, then I watched the other Italy games at WC, watched Ozil there too, thought about some of their games in the Prem... and was like FUCK - The Body language of them two, boy if Wenger signs them two they gonna need to go on an Invincibles run in terms of media comments. Then the Gullit going in on him confirmed it cos I was like Gullit was the tame one out of Souness and him on CL nights, so if he's that mad, wait till Souness gets started lol, imagine if Balotelli had started away against Dortmund...

Arsenal youngster Wellington Silva is finally eligible to play for Arsene Wenger's side after gaining a work permit to ply his trade in England.

The 21-year-old Brazilian was signed for a reported £3.5million fee from Fluminense in 2010, but has been unable to play for the Londoners due to work constraints.

Instead he has been loaned out five times to Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria, where he is currently based.

However, the former Brazil Under-17 international is now eligible to play for Arsenal from next season.

Talking about being granted the relevant paperwork, he said: "It is very important for me. I could go back to Arsenal next season if Wenger wants me to.

However, he added: "I am not going to worry about my future and my only desire right now is to help Almeria preserve their La Liga status.

"At this moment, I am focused on the present."

Wellington is yet to hit the target in six La Liga appearances for Almeria this campaign.
