Someone explain why Captain 300 aka King Leonidas is a laughable captain? LVG wont concerned about his behaviour under a manager who was clearly weak. Wayne took advantage of Moyes' authority why should that concern Van Gaal. When you look past historical politics we all know he has the character to rally the team and won't abuse his authority under the new boss.

What about his behavior under Ferguson?

You're not allowed to bring that up. Historically the line will be Fergie had Rooney on lock and it was Moyes and only Moyes who bowed at those scouse feet.

Same way historically the line will be and has been that Pogba left for money (despite Gill basically rubbishing those rumours)

He said it last night. I'm just hoping that the big announcement wasn't the captaincy thing.

Anybody else not dissatisfied with the pace of business considering all the talk of being quick and effective during the transfer window.

Just hit me that the season starts on Saturday and Arsenal, Liverpool (yes they lost Suarez) and Chelsea have all strengthened more than us.

Herrera and LVG will be excellent additions this season Shaw will grow into a very good player too. But we're still a Evans injury away from a pretty significant problem. Always backed Blackett to do things but don't want him to be thrown in at the deep end.

Yes it worked with the fledglings but as I said many times last season the problem with the squad is the lack of character within it. I'd have no problem with Blackett being thrown in as part of the 94 or 99 sides but this one is more likely to let him sink.

Same with Keane.

A Herrera injury would cause a problem too.

The potential side for the weekend is worrying, the only saving grace is the ridiculously (seemingly anyway) easy start to the season.

Such an embarassing summer.

We've still got the sh*t players on our books

No new signings (shaw & Herrera were targets from last season)

Three big players left

trust me,

i just hate how united do everything" by the book"

u look at chelsea and real madrid etc, they go all out to get the players they want, time for us to be ruthless and unsettle, play dirty

Sources have also said Van Gaal is getting increasingly impatient about the lack of transfer activity. Although Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera arrived this summer, both of the deals were effectively finalised last season, meaning there have been no real new buys since the campaign ended.

Van Gaal did sign off on those two players, but he expected to have the majority of United's business done by Friday - the day before they face Swansea at Old Trafford to open the new campaign.

He was said to be particularly agitated at the failure to complete a deal for new Barcelona signing Thomas Vermaelen, given that United for a long time believed his arrival was virtually assured.

LOL play dirty?

You just put bids in and the other club rejects or accepts.

It's not that complicated.
