Just found a website I think you all will be interested in. You basically pick a destination from around the world ie. Fiji. It then gives you numerous different hosts available in the target area, you look through at some of the different jobs they offer and they usually provide free board, food and supply you with a working visa.

http://www.workaway.info

It's obviously not for everyone as most jobs don't actual pay with legal tender but with experiences, food and the like. It's great for places where it's hard to get a Visa like Australia.

That ones for Jamaica, it sounds good apart from the cooking and cleaning part but you get the idea.

Props for posting that site. Going to look into it for Brazil. Seems too good to be true in regards to the "free" part but I'm definitely going to look into this a lot more. Do you know anyone personally that has co-signed this site or have you seen any reviews or stuff that give it the green light?

cool people, im planning on going to the USA next year probably around october and was wondering if anyone who's been arrested has gone before and how they found the process of getting a visa.

ive been arrested 3 times, never convicted (two cautions and dropped charges once) but looking at the us embassy website any arrest means you have to apply for a visa, and the process looks f*ck*ng long. gotta get some documents from the police here and have an interview with the embassy, but the document can take months to get, and your visa only lasts for 3 months max, so its going to be tricky planning a holiday with that time scale.

so yeah anyone got a visa after being arrested and how easy was it?

cheers

thats what i was thinking but this is from the american embassy website

"is not ineligible to receive a visa under U.S. visa law. Travelers who have been arrested, even if the arrest did not result in a criminal conviction"

"Under United States visa law people who have been arrested at anytime are not eligible to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program(VWP); they are required to apply for visas before traveling. If the arrest resulted in a conviction, the individual may require a special restricted visa in order to travel. The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act does not apply to United States visa law. Therefore, even travelers with a spent conviction are not eligible to travel visa free; they must apply for B-1 or B-2 visas. If they attempt to travel under the VWP, they may be refused entry into the United States."

i know i could travel to america and not declare anything and have a 99% chance of getting away with it, but if in the future i want to go out there on a more permanant basis and they find out you havent followed the rules properly you can get banned for life apparently.
