i don't think ppl fully getting it,

imo ye is saying without the green light from the corporations a black person's fashion label will never reach the generational & historical levels of the armani's, gucci's, prada, ysl etc

those in control which isn't a lot will not allow it, end of

now & again they'll break us off a little something here & there but thats about it

my issue with kanye is that hes too self absorbed  ...guy only wants to help one person and thats himself. he was salty big sean was above him in that list as well...thats his artist like?

hes comparing himself to all these big people but he just needs to slow down...these people became big by people supporting the brand regardless ....people aint gonna wanna support ye if hes acting like some idiot talking about himself all the time...everything he wants to do is all about self gains.

Yeah but i can see why he is pissed when people are ripping him off like the yeezys,lv and all that fashion jazz. He is behaving disgruntled. People forget this guy has always been a gassed guy. Talib was saying on vlad kanye said he was gona be best dressed rapper/fashion icon when he was making beats for jay And talib was like ok mate. He has always put himself as a innovator so im suprised when people are sayin hes self absorbed hes been like that from the start.

What happened to his voice tho must have picked that up recently

true he's still the same, i think hes doing the right thing by speaking on it constantly, but its jus the way hes puttin it across, u cant be saying ur the next "steve jobs" etc, i mean even if he does release a bunch of clothing who's to say the people will like it and take to it the way most people took to apple products.

he needs to be patient.

He said in the interview my problem is i dont know how to talk to people. I think that explains what u said in a way

I swear this nigga was suggesting leather trousers to a big clothing line and they told him nah. Then 1 year later everyone started makin them. Thas probably why hes gassing his "vision" on steve jobs level or whatever

I rate how he described his albums and the "ages" he felt he was when he dropped them. Lets be honest yeezus being what it is was(controversial) alot of that sound will be mimicked by fresh producers. Cruel summer & mbdtf set the sound for a lot of beats that came out at around the same time.

then thats probably one of the reasons why the " fashion world" wont let him in,a level of respect is needed, i mean look at the way he spoke to sway, disrespecting a friend live on air,so imagine how he speaks to people who he is not close to thats denying him a chance to "change the world"

Yeah tbh he ain't got shit on Jobs. He might be at the top of his game but he ain't revolutionising shit. He's just being loud and ambitious.

Like I'd be happy for him to do well, 'cause he's right about there being limits for black people, its easy to see black people don't have role models in a bunch of industries. But he thinks that because he's at the top of his game he can jump years ahead of people who've been in their industries for years, and he thinks that its just his name that should carry him - everyone has ideas, the only thing that makes him special is that he's a popular musician.

comment taken from another site  i agree with everything said below

n.b  the merril lynch story that the poster was referring to is this http://www.msnbc.com/hardball/black-brokers-settle-racist-claim

basically 4 black brokers took ML to court accusing them of providfing better opprotunities and compensation for white employees

should stay in his lane as a rapper and make music, for a music industry that is controlled by Billionaire white men.

Now, we have a story about Merrill Lynch, a financial institution, within yet another billion dollar industry controlled & dominated by white billionaires. With that power, these men in the article voice exactly how they exercised that power to marginalize, isolate & diminish these black people financially, as they do in most their industries. We're being shut out of these industries or held back to keep from prospering to the full capability these industries can generate for our black community, yet these industries are making millions & BILLIONS off of the black community. These brothers could easily be the role models necessary to inspire young blk boys to be more than dope boys, athletes or rappers. However, if they're stopped from succeeding, they have no real success to show or highlight to inspire the next generation. Which in essence, keeps blacks from ever accumulating GENERATIONAL WEALTH <----- The main point Kanye wants to convey to his fellow black people, hence him bringing up money & being a billionaire is the key to generational wealth. Of course u don't need money to make u happy or be free, but it is needed to create, start & maintain a business. But not just any business, A CONGLOMERATE. Think of money as gas, and a business a vehicle. In order for that vehicle (aka BUSINESS) to move & progress towards its destination, it needs gas (aka MONEY). However, some vehicles are gas guzzlers and needs a particular brand of gas & more gas to reach a certain destination. Millions of dollars is regular, Billions is premium & the only type of gas a billion dollar vehicle aka business can utilize to reach its final destination.

Billionaires have generational wealth, millionaires don't. Millionaires don't run, own or control billion dollar industries, they're the highly paid employees of their bosses (i.e. BILLIONAIRES). Example of that is sports teams; most if not all of NFL, NBA & MLB sport teams owners with large majority ownerships are white billionaires. The players are the employees getting paid millions, to make them more BILLIONS!!! And we all know how soon these athletes go broke once they retire, how soon do any of these billionaire owners go broke??? Generational Wealth don't break!!!

Kanye message isn't he wants to be in the inner circle of these white billionaires to become their friends or be accepted by them. He wants himself other blacks to be amongst them so we have BLACK representation on the highest level. So, when these billionaire white dudes try to move in on blk own companies that obtain such an amount of success, they're on billionaire status or will be in the future, we have a BLACK representative who can interfere with more white wealthy men taking control over our businesses or wiping them out. We can start doing business with those black representatives instead, and generate AND KEEP our own wealth that can allow each of our following generations to prosper as they should. One last example, in 2010 Birdman (Multi-millionaire) talked about how he owned an oil rig (billion dollar industry), and was making money of it. Not long after he made such a claim, Bloomberg investigated his claims and those in control of that industry discredited him, claiming they never heard of Broland Gas & Oil Company, they were just getting started & just hearing that alone, the white billionaires put a stop to it & that's the last u heard about it from them. Kanye isn't crazy, he's just emotional & frustrated to get his message out but I understood him completely.
