Jack Wilshere

'Jack Wilshere came on the scene and looked a top young player but he has never really gone on. He needs the characters like Vieira next to him to take him to the next level. He doesn't look any better player now than he did when he was 17.'

Thoughts on Scholes comment about him?

He was out on loan at Bolton not even 4 years ago and has been injured for 2 and a half years.

Certain man need to go look at Tom Cleverley and ask since he hasn't been injured why he still doesn't belong in a conversation with our Jack.

Fail from time you are even comparing Wilshere to Cleverly

Wilshere

-------------------------

Came through Arsenals academy touted as a future world class player, club captain, one of the stand out talents of his generation, plays under a manager who plays more technical football and like to retain possession etc, all features which cater to Wilshere's more cultural and technical ability, on top of that previously having Song next to him to do the cleaning up, he also plays frequently in a midfield 3 which offers him even more protection to play his natural game

Cleverley

-------------------------

Was never even expected to make it at Man Utd, not even as a squad player in his youth days, went to Wigan and played under a positive coach who plays positive football and shone (Martinez), came back to us had a good pre-season playing LAM for us, was then thrown into a 4-4-2 once the season started and used as a first teamer rather then a squad player that he should have been, on top of that he had to go from playing in the transition from midfield to attack, to the transition from defence to midfield which barely allowed him to cross the half-way line as Rooney is our 10 and doesnt drop back and help move the game up the pitch with movement, 1-2s which Tom has shown he is very good at doing. If we had actually replaced Scholes with a world class midfielder Tom would be a squad player with us and be a very good one, if we also had a manager who played modern positive football like Martinez and not Fergie or Moyes who hate to play more than two midfielders Cleverley would look much better, guys just been used as a scapegoat and people like you fall for it without actually stepping back and looking at the situation, he gives effort in a system and philosophy which is not suited to his game

Ridiculous to compare the two.

Most highly rated cm to come through our academy in recent years was Pogba who is winning back to back titles with Juve, breaking into the france team and wanted by the biggest teams in the world

Same with the other CMs who broke through the same time as Wilshere like Verrati, Thiago etc and he is right now nowhere near

Scholes was spot on, its just sour grapes in here

I wish he was as brutual with his own team tbh.

I wish every ex-United player was(with the exception of Keane who always keeps it 100 and isn’t worried about damaging his relationship with Fergie and United)

What relationship?

:lmao:

Lol

That part of my comment was for the other players. Keane would probably contemplate giving Fergie a 2 footed challenge if he saw him on road, lol.

You missed the point and then highlighted a funny point in what Scholes said and watched in the end of his career.

I'm not sour about what he said, I just think there is a major irony in it.

What does a fully fit J.W offer?

Watch his performance vs. Barca @ Emirates.

people always go on about this , can we get over a 8/10 performance please

fact is he is slow, tactically inept, easy to dispossess and weak - against the good sides he's exposed horribly

He played too many games in that breakthrough season, like Cesc did at the start and it cost us (by losing all our top players coz we didn't win anything) and cost him by burnout, making him susceptible to injuries

Wenger always compromises our success to blood these young players smh#

It worked in 97/98 coz Vieria was ready but Nico was not (granted wrighty got injured) but still, wenger was lucky bergkamp & overmars were on form that year to carry Nico - and all these young players we nurture end up pissing off anyway
