I will probably mirror how my parents disciplined me.

Different cultures have different rules imo.. Obviously you have boundaries.

My dad used to smack me, never on the face and always on my backside. More time I tried to be smart and sit on my bum knowing he wouldn't hit me anywhere else but I just got flipped like hamburger and received my licks.

In fairness, I am a well adjusted member of society nowadays having grown up in a f*cked area where I could have gone wrong, in hindsight largely thanks to both the values imparted by my dad and the discipline received.
