I hear you I agree, Gonna go the same route rwd mag did? which actually leaves a gap in the market. I am not one of these media type guys but I have a concept in my head what I have yet to see any UK person do in the 'urban scene' I know it can work but what kind of money does that Youtube views pay out? how many views would you need a month to be earning £2.5k a month? need to do market research to see if it is worth the time.

Did an experiment with another video I monetised, 30,000 views equated to about 8 euros, so in terms of the new vitaly vid which has got around 22 mil views that equates to about 6000

although I am sure if you are consistent with videos they will offer a different package with ads etc so it's all relative and a pretty big waste of time

Errrm my mates run a UK esporting events company and as recently as two weeks ago he was hanging with some youtubers who pull in clean $20-$40,000 dollars monthly from monetizing youtube vids, there is a significant amount of income to be earned doing that shit trrrrrrrrruuuuuuuussssssttttt me!

If I could find an avenue or more importantly a consistent audience that would be my job.

Actually, that Vitaly vid that i think you're talking about ( Gold digger one?)  Would have probably made him alone over 30k US Dollars.    Possibly even more as he's a big youtuber and has bonus clauses in his contract.

There's guys making 20-30k sterling a month from youtube, easy.

Youtube has changed quite a while ago, it's not about the views any more as much.

I think that we are going to see a shift in the music media market within the next five years.

If Revolt grows and decides to expand across Europe into the UK,  it may purchase or go into partnership with SBTV, just so they can get a strong foothold in the UK.

This could either leave a gap in the market for the link up tv's or the p110's, or it could seal the gap in the market & totally dominate.

Imagine if Revolt came over to the UK, do you think that the standard of UK music would increase?

it will come over eventually,

UK music is stepping up, from emilie sande to tinnie tempah( he may not make ur fav type of music)but what he has done is make them "stadium anthems" ...which is a major deal with american sporting events

//

chippy chip chip tried the same thing with that song " champion" it kinda worked, i feel more uk hip hop artist will soon go down the "anthem" route

Everyone watched that breakfast club interview and thought the same thing

Good look for Jamal. Nice cash injection. I'd imagine we're going to see a few SBTV live events popping up more frequently. Combining those with some digital innovation, like streaming them for free or something should see them grow. The google money pays Jamal, but to grow SBTV as a company, this step makes sense.

They should start on their website as well

just doesn't work. Some of that youtube channel traffic converted into website traffic would significantly increase revenue.

Also on previous point - streaming live shows - ie giving them a reason to branch out of youtube and start their own database.

CHEEZ. A database full of teenagers to advertise to. hahaha mate

When you say Uk Music what do you mean, when I mention Uk Music, I mean UK Music, not 'urban acts', from Punk to Jungle, Neo soul, Drum and Bass, Grime, Lovers Rock, House, Dubstep, Hardcore etc British music is always up there amongst the best and is always reinventing new dynamic sounds with a culture along with it which just sucks you in.
