the whole thing is annoying. its not like some blizzard. i been canada in blizzards of -18 and the town still functioned.needed to go bank today and went at 4 they had a note saying 'due to adverse weather they are shutting at 3.30"what adverse wheather in london? a few f*ck*ng inches and everyones shutting shop.
those countries are geared up for serious weatherwe arent, and because this si the worst in 0 years is it really cost effective to plan for something that may not happen again in years?although i wont lie it does take the piss sometimes when the trains cant run coz its cold or whatever
Same thing i was saying to my mum. People are complaining about how we come to a standstill. One, it sounds like people complain when they gotta go work or do things, but also complain when weather stops them from going to work and doing things.Other countries like Russia, canada, even some cold parts of america are built for weather that theyre used to. Were not. Before Feb 2009, we haven't really had big big snow blanketing the country. If we built this country INCASE we get heavy snow, thats when the same miserable people will be complaining that theyre using taxpayers money for something that may not even happen.

They never slipped like that in our day!! I remember getting the bus to school (bearing in mind it was a 90 minute journey on a regular day) and then getting there 3 hours later and school was shut. Phoned my mum and she said I couldn't use my card to get a train ticket home and that I had to get the bus back even though it took me 3 hours. Was so f*cked off that day. Hung around for like 2 hours in the bus station before I found a friend that had a car that wanted to jam and dropped me home later. These days, they see flakes, they shut the gates!

What an idiot. My uncle forgot me at primary school once. Always picked up my cousins from the school round the corner and then picked me up and one day he just never showed. I was at school with just the janitor trying to remember my uncle's phone number. I had the number right but kept saying it started 0800 instead of 0181. Fair enough for me, I was like 8 but the idiot janitor didn't even clock. I eventually remembered at 8 and my uncle came and picked me up. Apparently one of his daughters' hayfever had made her eye go puffy so they went to go get pills for it and then they went home and everyone just forgot about me. He always used to call me son and sh*t like he was supposed to be my father figure. From then I knew he never gave a sh*t. Would still like an opportunity to punch him and my other "uncle" up.

Thank you for your email.Unfortunately the heating system cannot run for 24 hrs, the system itself will not take it. It is far more sensible to have the heating running during the day when people are up and about rather than late at night when most people are in bed.The hot water times have been extended to 24hrs whilst we have this cold spell. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.John MathiasHall Bursar
