What a difference a day makes.

 

Earlier this month Xbox One was tracking ahead of PS4 in Amazon’s video games bestselling charts. Then E3 happened and everything changed.

Just hours after Sony’s victorious E3 press event Sony’s machine overtook Microsoft’s amid stories of cancelled pre-orders.

Now, just hours after Microsoft announced that it is ditching its internet and DRM requirements, public opinion seems to be swaying back in Microsoft’s favour.

The £429 Xbox One Day One Edition is currently the second best selling item in the video games section behind Sony’s PS3 title The Last of Us. PS4 has been relegated to third.

 

The highest ranked next-gen game is Watch Dogs on PS4 in eight followed by the Xbox One version of Call of Duty Ghosts in 13^th, Battlefield 4 on Xbox One in 14^th and Xbox One Exclusive Forza 5 in 17^th.

As it has been previously mentioned, Sony still outsold Xbox this current generation despite all the problems Sony had including:

Coming out nearly a year later

Costing more

PSonline hacking scandal

Less excusives/additional content

etc

Furthermore, only a mug would trust Microsoft after treating their fanbase so poorly with their arrogance and greed

Sony has got this calm

LS you can't seriously expect MS to outsell Sony if they do a price drop.... From when the PS3 has shifted more units coming out more than the year later at a bigger price where is the logic in that? Add to that the fact a lot of XBox Users have switched over now and refuse to go back.

 

Exclusive Game wise MS don't really have any big titles do they besides ones that XBox Users like and PS3 users never cared about, I.E. Halo? The Zombie game definitely looked good but apart from that what else did XBox have to offer so far.

 

The positives for me about the XBone were the Voice and Kinect features along with the interface and I am not sure if I prefer the XBone cosmetically to the Sony or not. Undecided on that.

 

Game wise the ones that matter to me are on both consoles but PS4 are due to have the better graphics.

 

Next few months will be interesting.

I don't understand why you keep bringing up PS3 outselling Xbox when it only happened recently in the past year or so..  It was expected, MS stopped bringing big games to the console.

 

PS3 had better graphics than Xbox but we rarely saw it, if you suggest otherwise, you're lying to yourself.   

 

Xbox has HDMI In, alot of people haven't even picked up on that.   You got to remember, Xbox is more than a games console.  I doubt PS4 will be able to match MS' in that sense.  Not to mention online which is much superior to Sony's 

 

If you want to play Fifa, BF, COD etc why would you play it on PS4?  No positives.  MS have the big companies in their back pocket.

MGS5-  Kojima rolled out with MS ffs.    I bought a PS3 to play MGS4 when it first came out.

 

Kingdom Hearts- huge game that Sony tried to say it was an exclusive

 

Final Fantasy 15 aka Versus-  which was made specifically for Sony consoles only.   Another game that Sony tried to say was an exclusive is now coming out on Xbox.

 

 

Like i said, the only positive i'm seeing right now is the Price which is the big factor.  

 

I haven't got time to be waiting for months for dlc content.  I want to my games to run properly and not being biased towards another console 'cause they are on the payroll.

Admittedly the 360 was a very solid console as a whole but it also had its fair share of issues aka the RROD 

 

But PS3 edged it imo with native blue ray and the already solid playstation community/fanbase which spanned from PS1 days

 

And I think people are forgetting one main thing here

So they paid Hideo off to show MGS on XBox... I'd be more impressed and compelled to get an XBone if they had of got MGS as an exclusive.. Guess they didn't put enough bribe money forward. What about all the small time developers who are not getting as much support as Sony are giving them too?

 

At the end of the day it's a good thing that the option of buying either one has been restored and that is all thanks to Sony listening to the people. MS only changed their policies due to their arses dropping about losing sales figures. Nothing to do with respecting what the people wanted, all money. 

 

Personally not worried at all about DL packs for BF etc reaching XBox a couple of weeks or so before PS4... I haven't even downloaded any on BF3.

 

I agree never noticed the graphics difference on PS3/360 but PS3 was notoriously hard for developers to work with. PS4 apparently will be easy too work with and has 50% more graphical power than XBone and I'm pretty cosmetic, I like games to look nice. But I'll believe it when I see the differences.

 

Think the PS4 will make the better "Gaming Machine" it's whether you wanna pay the extra money for the Kinect features and TV on your console... Which I do like the look of.

Also can someone explain to me about this online community on XBox... I still don't get what makes it so special having not played one. Tell me about the set up. I always thought the community will only depend on who you know that plays a console. What benefits does XBox Live have that makes online a better experience?

Sony don't have parties where you can chat

 

Sony don't give you an option of speaking to someone that's on a different game.

 

More servers means more better connection.

 

Better maintenance.

 

Better all round service.

 

Gives you more option of apps for non games etc   

 

Sounds gay, but you can watch football together through Sky for example.   Just generally more banter. 

 

It doesn't sound alot but you won't know until you tried it.   If an Xbox guy tried to jump on a PS3 right now, they would be fuming. 

 

 

 

 

Then again, it's a paid service.   Sony's is miles behind, but i'm glad they made it so you have to pay.  Too many cheap guys moaning but expect a good service then cry when they get hacked.    I remember when i got my PS3 i wasn't allowed to look at my messages if i was in game  

 

Remember there wasn't even a trophy system when it first came out.

 

Not giving people mics in their console meant that less people communicated through them.   However, they copied the Xbox pad in that respect with the new PS4 pad.

All that has been corrected with PS4 now though right? Cross chat and all that is available. TBH all us VIP2 guys used our mics when we first got PS3's on COD etc. Shit was hilarious back then. I preferred the Blue Tooth headsets as well until I got a Turtle Beach - Superior stuff. 

 

Does XBox Live have it's own sorta game rooms or is that all game based like the PS3 ones.

Gambino. I was a ps3 user. Then switched to 360 and online experience for gaming parties in game or everyman playing multiple different games.

Ps3 cannot touch it.

If ps4 can bring it it's cool, just understand xbox users have been spoilt for ages with it. So switching to ps4 even though Sony promise it, just understand peeps are weary until they see it working

The experience is just alot more social than the bland stark ps interface.

But im coming back to playstation this time round regardless.

XBone should do then too. Pretty sure the PS3 doesn't unless anyone can correct me. I know it doesn't read my NTFS one and MKV's with it being  Fat32. Would be handy if PS4 does it.
