I don't really trade, I just use bitcoins regularly but

if your gonna buy and hold, just get a wallet like mycelium where you own the private keys to your wallets, don't hold coins in an online wallet store because they will all get hacked one day.

coinbase is not what you want to be using. 

With coinbase you don't actually own your coins. They do. Most people find that okay but it doesn't really sit right with me.

Any alternatives? Doesnt sit tooo well with me either but will probably be a case of does the effort outweigh the reward

If the company is underwhelming the price will crash on the 16th-17th for a little bit because people have already bought a shit load in expectation of the announcement

If the company is big the price will explode 

So it's up to you whether you wanna buy now at what is basically an all time high or wait till friday/sat/sun
