He scored 2 in the FA Cup in his first year.
Would be sad to see him go.
Doesn't get the plaudits he deserves from a lot of Chelsea fans.
Not saying the guy is SICK but no doubt he was a useful cog for chelsea
Never seen him try to dispossess man on some Essien tip but as a player to get the ball from the defense and push it out wide or to the mid he did his job.
Mikel is a very good holding player his only real drawback is his limited ability with the ball (compared to the other top holding players)
good tackler, good reader of the game, good in the air (very very important & underrated attribute for a holding player) and a neat distributor of the ball
His problem is he more of a 2000s era holding player, much more of the makelele than the busquets type, he cant/wont run the game from deep in midfield the way Fernandindo, Carrick, Arteta, etc do
Not sure why mourhino wants rid of him though, assumed hed play Mikel next to a passer, or at least as backup as Essien/Ramires will probably start most games
Jose wants Terry playing week in week out
Luiz and Ramires holding with Essien and Romue as back up
Terry/Cahill/Ivanovic/Chabolah as the CBS with Luiz covering in an injury crisis
Or he hopefully wants to sign Khederia
#cfc say quotes attributed to Mikel claiming he will join Galatasaray are not his. Club say he has "not spoken on this subject".

Mata doesn't suit the Mourinho style of play.
So he either waits until Mourinho has remoulded him into what Mata wants him to be, which would potentially ruin the player and be against the player's will, possibly not actually work, or Mata might not be good in Mourinho's version of his role
Or cash in
Mata will be sold, and it will make sense
