Nitrous Oxide, more commonly known as ‘Laughing Gas’ has been in the spotlight this year. Various pictures have emerged of celebrities inhaling the substance from balloons, and it’s become an ever more popular thing to do amongst party goers. Whilst not strictly illegal, there are health risks associated with laughing gas, and before one of the biggest party seasons of the year kicks in, we bring you the facts.

Nitrous Oxide is traditionally used for mothers during labour, or for those in the dentists chair, for its anesthetic qualities. However, during the recent craze of inhaling repeatedly through balloons, side effects such as hallucinations and blackouts, and it’s even been the cause of the death of a student last year, who fell into a coma after inhaling with his friends.

 

Dangers include:

 

Oxygen deprivation (caused by inhaling Carbon Dioxide from the balloon)

Vitamin B deficiency

Nausea

Permanent nervous system damage (if used long term)

Dizziness and a loss of balance

 

 

With laughing gas now being so widely available, especially if you’re out partying over the festive period, it’s best to know the dangers. For the sake of a £3 balloon, you might just want to go and get yourself a drink.

I hate seeing balloons at house parties. My flatmate used to always go to several and sell packs, and people would just be sitting in corners going through them. She'd make a decent profit from it though. I remember the beaches in Croatia were completely covered in canisters.

Yup. Fucking loved it, best thing ever and only intoxicant I would currently recommend anyone try.

LSD was a truly enlightening experience, I feel like I never came down. Not to be one of those preachy arseholes but it enhances your senses, if something was funny before its fucking hillarious to the point of almost dying on LSD.

Do do in the daytime, preferably on a nice sunny day outside, you will reap the benefits of more light which means more visuals, and less dark, meaning less opportunity to see dark shit or get scared

if you ain't doing it at some wench off fuck head fest then pick your team carefully, last thing you want is a. some square fucking up your vibe cos you're fucked and they are not or b. someone reacting badly to the trip and fucking up yours

paranoia is a factor, so best to acknowledge it and move forward

when me and my bro used to get on it, we'd make a point of catching each other out if one was looking at the other one a bit too weirdly, if you know what I mean

same goes for weird visuals, remind yourself that's exactly what it's about

 

youre from west so I'd imagine you roll round in a 25 strong group of fuck heads of all colours and creeds, ideal group to get involved with it in IMO

I think you'd have to take a fucking insane amount of LSD for it to have a negative effect, but like most drugs it simply enhances your mood. If you're down and depressed don't expect LSD to lift you out of it in the same way smoking or drinking wouldn't.

Definitely do it on a summers day in the park, or when you haven't got to do anything. Time passes weirdly, so don't do it like the day before you have to go back to work or an exam. If you just chill and let it work its magic your brain will take over and you can control your buzz. Fuck i'm getting excited talking about it, I heard you can order it online from this site but I don't trust all that. My mate either makes it or knows someone who does.
