Nah my mistake with fletcher

That's 11 players who can play in the 3 in the current first team squad

Are you denying those 11 are not going to be used in the central 3

During pre season

I'm just saying Perez wouldn't have to compete with 11 box to box mids if he joined the club

But to answer your question no because I think in pre-season and in the early stages of the season LVG will give them and other players enough rope to hang themselves before they get permanently moved to another position or another club.

Di Maria, who is valued at about £45 milllion, is on United’s radar

Reuters

Manchester United are continuing to monitor Angel Di Maria’s situation at Real Madrid. The Argentina winger is on the Barclays Premier League club’s radar although there has been no contact with Real or the player.

Reports emerged today that United had bid for Di Maria and agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old but they are only maintaining a watching brief at this stage.

Di Maria - who excelled in Real’s Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid, their cross city rivals, and has played an important role in Argentina’s progress to the World Cup final - is valued at about £45 million and contracted to the Spanish giants until June 2018.

United have already spent £56.8 million on Luke Shaw, the England left back, and Ander Herrera, the Spanish midfielder, this summer, although Louis van Gaal, the club’s new manager, remains in the market for another midfielder, a centre-half and a versatile winger-cum-forward in the Di Maria mould.

With Patrice Evra also moving closer to joining Juventus, United are also expected to sign another left back as cover for Shaw. Ricardo Rodriguez, of Wolfsburg, is one option.

Arturo Vidal, the Juventus midfielder, continues to be heavily linked with United, who are monitoring developments surrounding the Chilean.

louis-van-gaal-the-netherlands-world-cup

Louis van Gaal has confirmed he will start working with the Manchester United squad at Carrington on Wednesday.

Van Gaal will return to Europe with the rest of the Holland squad on Sunday, 24 hours after the 3-0 win over Brazil which sealed third place at the World Cup.

But he is in no mood to take a long break despite his busy schedule in Brazil and will only have a couple of days off before heading for Manchester in midweek.

The Dutchman signed a three-year deal with United before the tournament to take over from David Moyes, who lasted less than one season at Old Trafford - they ended last season in seventh place in the Premier League and missed out on European football completely.

Van Gaal has since, with the help of members of United's backroom staff, overseen a couple of high-profile signings in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw and he is expected to remain busy on the transfer front.

United have been linked with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria and Van Gaal is keen to get down to business on and off the pitch.

"That is no problem for me, I don't need a holiday. It's great to have such an exciting challenge," he said after the win in Brasilia.

"To work daily with young people is something that I don't need time off to rest for.

"I'm looking forward to it. I've only met two people from the daily management at the club - the chief scout and the chief executive officer. And I've met two of the owners. It's time that I get to know more people at the club."

Van Gaal will spend two days at United's training complex before heading to the United States, where his new side is scheduled to play at least four matches.

His first game in charge comes against the LA Galaxy on July 23 and is followed by matches against European giants AS Roma, Inter Milan and Real Madrid - they could have a fifth match if reaching the final of the eight-team tournament which concludes in Miami on August 4.

Wayne Rooney eyes Manchester United armband but fears Van Persie-Van Gaal connection

By Sam Long

Posted on July 13, 2014

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is hopeful that new manager Louis van Gaal will name him as captain once the Dutchman officially takes the reins at Old Trafford later this summer, according to the Mirror.

The 28-year-old is now one of the most senior members in the Red Devils’ current squad after Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand left, while Ryan Giggs has retired and taken a management role alongside Van Gaal.

Having recently committed his long term future to United after signing a new contract to extend his stay at the club past the 10 year mark, Rooney is keen to be handed the armband to lead the team into a new era of success.

However, Van Gaal enjoys a strong relationship with fellow United forward Robin van Persie and his countryman is widely expected to be installed as skipper ahead of the Englishman.

Van Persie led the Netherlands during their World Cup campaign in Brazil this summer, which ended in a penalty shoot-out defeat to Argentina, and already has the manager’s trust, while Rooney is yet to work with the prestigious coach during his career.

If Rooney is snubbed in favour of his team mate, rumours undoubtedly will be rife that the striker no longer has a future at the club. But given his new found maturity, Rooney is ready to accept Van Gaal’s decision and give everything he can to reverse the dramatic dip in fortunes at the club.

 f*ck this guy

When RVP comes back from his holiday he needs to tell him...
