Just seen that video of Zaha in the club

pissed out of his head down croydon hours before the Arsenal game

dont see the problem man was not even in the squad? and he was celebrating his 21st birthday

The heady concoction of temptation that seduced George Best in his peak years representing Manchester United appears to be having a similar bewitching effect on the England Under-21 winger Wilfried Zaha.

The only difference being, Best became an iconic figure in being named European Player of the Year while helping the club carry off the European Cup in 1968.

Zaha has done little or nothing since moving to United from Crystal Palace in a £10 million transfer last season. He has yet to turn out for the English champions in the Premier League.

Hours before United beat Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford last Sunday, Zaha was celebrating his 21st birthday in a nightclub in Croydon.

The nightclub posted footage of Zaha dancing on stage at their venue before pulling the video earlier this morning.

David Moyes would have had to sanction Zaha's night out, but the footage emerges on the same week photos of him apparently smoking appeared online are unlikely to impress his manager.

Zaha claims he wasn't smoking nicotine, but the pictures are fairly damning whatever he was puffing.

There are already tabloid transfer tales emerging of a possible loan move to Newcastle in the January transfer window with Everton keen to finalise a permanent deal for the former Palace man.

Perhaps if Zaha put as much effort into his football as his social life, he would not be facing such a prospect.

The comments SMH, they should never of given poor people the internet

di brudda always looks surprised in his pics lol...

but yeah im sure he knew he wasnt picked for the game so meh

IMO this is one of  the issues i have with "modern day football". Whether he's in the squad or not he should be preparing for each game in the same way, showing intent and commitment.

I get he's a young man out enjoying himself on his b-day and that he hasn't been playing but i have a little issue with this.

George Best comparison is a joke.

imagine this is the headline that links you to the article

'Revealed:The reason Zaha is out of favour'

thats bang out of order that is

defo dark forces trying to get him out

i wonder why

More likely he was told he can go back down to London for a few days.

Of course he probably was, I'm not on about him breaking any rules nor am I accusing him of doing so, I'm on about him going above the call of duty to impress show 100% focus and commitment,

I keep hearing about this aspect of the class of 92 and I'm looking forward to the documentary and the comments of people all saying "we'll things could never happen like that now"

To clarify I'm not saying he's doing or has done anything wrong and he is totally entitled to enjoy himself. The story/article just doesn't sit amazingly well with me.

When Ronaldo joined the media wernt very fond of him but stories of him staying behind after training on his own for hours still came through. Zaha isn't in the team right now, I want him to succeed I want to be hearing about him staying behind on his own, maybe asking to be played in the reserve team etc.

Writing was on the wall from when he went out and bought a R8 and Powell stuck with a Corsa. Looked bad by comparison and has done nothing to redeem himself.

Louis van Gaal has hinted he is keen to bring Kevin Strootman to Manchester United after admitting he is keeping a close eye on the injured midfielder's recovery. As their pre-season tour continues, United face a Roma side on Saturday which will not feature Strootman, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer after undergoing a knee operation in March which ruled him out for the Netherlands at the World Cup. Roma coach Rudi Garcia said on Friday there is "no doubt" that Strootman will be staying at the club but Van Gaal suggested he is waiting to weigh up a bid. Asked if Strootman might be bought, Van Gaal said: "I never usually say anything about individual players. It is my vision that we talk about a team and not individual players. "But Strootman I can judge, but he is injured for more than six months. We have to wait and see how he comes back. It is not easy to say how he comes back from injury, but we will wait and see."

Louis van Gaal expects to make nine substitutions at half-time on Saturday against Roma. Van Gaal also has hit out at the "unbelievable" 2pm kick-off time for the friendly against Roma with temperatures set to soar above 90 degrees. The United manager revealed he will request that water breaks are taken during the match, just as they were when his Netherlands side overcame Mexico in the last 16 of the World Cup month. Van Gaal said, "I shall convince the referee like I did in Fortaleza," and added that just two players - Tom Cleverley and Tyler Blackett - will play all 90 minutes. One man who will not feature is Rafael after the defender left Friday evening's training session at Sports Authority Field with what appeared to be a groin injury.

The match against Roma is United's second of their pre-season tour, following Wednesday's 7-0 win over the LA Galaxy, and the first in the International Champions Cup tournament. Having spent just more than a week with his new team, Van Gaal spoke about his initial impressions of the players. "They are willing to pick up all information that we show and say, and that is very important," Van Gaal said on Friday evening. "They want to perform our philosophy and, OK, we have to wait and see how it develops." Van Gaal admitted that Friday's first practice, which featured a simulated game in preparation for Saturday's match, was "not a good session" but said he was pleased with the evening's work, which focused more on positional play. The Dutchman also revealed a little of his coaching philosophy, which, he says, challenges the minds of his players and is very demanding. "The most important difference is that I am training the players, not in the legs, but in the brain, in brain power," he said. "That's the big difference. That's not so easy for most of the players. And my direct character - I say the things how they are, so that can be good and that be worse, also."

Think he's trying to imply Zaha thinks he's made it before he's made it

Like when people use to laugh at Bently in his hummer when he was 18

However its not all connected, the most talented and hardworking youth could also buy himself a nice car

:/

Funny thing is while Kompressor put Powell on a pedestal for choosing a bummy Corsa over a R8 he left out the part about him picking up a 14 month ban for drinking and driving in that Corsa.

Zaha came across humble in interviews when he signed for United but when someone posted that behind the scenes video of last years pre season tour I thought he came across as a bit of a d*ckhead. Looked like he was somewhat trying to bully Adnan IMO.

yeah i got that vibe too, but its just the road yout in him

\

positives so far, the comments about training, herrera, the articulate and footballing topics we here being spoke about by LVG and staff, him already stating his philosphy and approach for the season, welbeck and mata bigging up herrera, cleverley/jones already identifying that they fit the 'system' and should bear fruit from it.

i stupidly thought moyes would come in and be his own man last season, and was just over optimistic after becoming tired of a stale fergie and his 'tactics'

but nowwww

Cleverley: I suit the system

Tom Cleverley believes he can claim a role in Louis van Gaal's Manchester United line-up after studying the style of the Netherlands side.

The midfielder feels he would be suitable for the team's new 3-5-2 formation and intends to start demonstrating it in Denver, where the Reds will face Roma on Saturday afternoon (14:06 local time). His Dutch manager has promised him a full 90 minutes, joking he should "fear" the conditions while saying "he's young and will cope" with the Colorado heat and high altitude.

"I watched the manager's Holland team in the World Cup and from that I think I'm going to be his type of player," said Cleverley at a pre-match press conference on Friday night. "I have to show that in training and most importantly games. I think there's a place for me but I have to prove it."

Cleverley is clearly hoping to benefit from a fresh start and a summer off, having missed out on England's abortive World Cup campaign.

"I managed to have a good break and recharge my batteries," he admitted. "Now we're back and all trying to impress the boss. We know what he wants - a passing and moving style. He's very clear and we have a good group of lads who are willing to learn. We made a good start the other night and we'll see how we go from there."
