Valencia-crossing.png

If we're gonna focus are attacking down the right side of the pitch it makes sense to pick a winger and fullback that can constantly beat a player and put accurate crosses into the box. So why is Valencia and Smalling first choice on the right flank? #MoyesEra

Valencia was winding me up sunday.

Had vertonghen and chiriches flailing about a couple times, simply to then just drill the cross into someones shins. Did it so many times.

Look at all thos short arrows . Out of 11, 6 of them were blocked within a yard. Shocking stuff.

would rather have valencia on the right,f the haters, he carries the ball out from defence better than most if not all, yes his crossing at times is a lil off key, but im sure when raf comes back he will have that extra yard of space cah smalling offers jack shi....

               smalling jones vidic

valencia                                evra

                         carrick

              anderson

                            kagawa

              rooney

                            RVP

would be a nice lil line up still!

It's not about hating Valencia, it's about what's best for the team. We have enough trouble getting a good end product from the right flank when Valencia has a fullback to help him out. Putting him there on his own as a wingback isn't gonna improve the situation.

we constantly look to our flank when it comes to attackin, teams have realised this for the last 12 or so months.....at least the wingback formation will make teams focus less on him/evra( who is one of the players we depend on most when it comes to attacking) n more on the players in the middle of the park

The Bayer Leverkusen game showed the route we need to go with the front 4. 1 striker, 1 playmaker and 2 wingers offering width on both flanks. No square pegs in round holes. Ideally only 2 of the players that started in that front 4 would start when everyone in the squad is available.

plz dont tell me u got gassed off that game!!.....

the space offered wasnt because of united play,BL offered so much space it was untrue!

united need more creativity from the center of the field...( funny enough i said this all summer yet ppl on here insisted fellaini was the "right man")  ...shame on u ppl myt i add! 8-)

valencia(evra) would have more of an inpact in games if less attention was on them when we build our attacks, his crossing was poor vs totty yet we still insisted on him having the ball , n at times it was 2 on one cah smalling offered nuttin......

"I think what I've seen from Nani is someone who is a talented player, a Portuguese international, and I hope we can try to get him to show that more often," explained Moyes.

"I thought there were moments when he ran the ball well for us in midweek and he scored a really good goal at the end.

"We're trying to give him the feeling that he is important and I think it's something he himself needs - to get back to that consistency which gives him the reason to say: 'I'm the man. I can do that job regularly'.

"Look, what I've found is he works hard enough at his game. He is happy to do all the leg work and the biggest thing is he has brilliant ability to score.

"His shooting with both feet is almost as good as anybody I've ever seen. He's incredibly talented with his skills and ability. We need to get him to show that more often."

Good trolling by Moyes

Said all of that after one of Nani's best performances of the season so far and then leaves him on the bench in the next 2 games.

watching mutv freeview ,decent interview with steve round  - defo improved my perception of him

Serious question, did you really have any level of a perception of him beforehand. Which wasn't based on a "ohh he's come from Everton" type snobbery.

of course it was

thats why i used the word perception as opposed to opinion , because my opinion of him wouldve been based off nothing

the first year was the time to change it. it's already been outlined as to why it would've been difficult for a Moyes, Rene and Phelen trio to work and even a Moyes Rene duo to work.

Moyes has been accused of a lack of bravery already this season, imagine if he came in and changed nothing.....

The biggest failiure of the Moyes reign so far is the shambles of a transfer market, the seeds for that were sown around this time last year or maybe a little earlier when David Gill decided to step down and his resignation was accepted, (without the board knowing that his mate Fergie had decided to call it a day as well. If the resignations had come in reverse order i Imagine Gill would've been "made" to stay on for at least an extra year to help the new manager settle in. According to Woodward it was only when Gill's route out had been finalised and okay'd that Fergie decided to announce his departure. (something that nobody could really try twisting his arm about)

cue Woodward and his interesting technique when it comes to chasing transfer targets and negotiating.

I don't understand why more isn't being made of the interesting timing of the announmcement of the two depatures of the two key men at the club. Not like Fergie can ban any jouno's from press conferences now but people still feel nervous about questioning something that in any other big company or business would not have been allowed to happen.

the issue right now are only trickiling down to team and squad matters, they're higher than that.

People talk about the big blow it was for Arsenal to lose Dein, Imagine if Dein and Wenger had run of into the sunset together at the same time?

Moyes and his decision making is only one of many things to blame for a shaky start in the league. I could list between 5 and 10 major things that are affecting the team and club right now.
