Considering most people don't have the space to leave the iron and ironing board out, unplugging it seems fairly standard. Even on the lowest temperatures irons and carpet do not get along, and if you've ever kicked an iron that's been left on the floor  It's just best to unplug and put it away.

PMSL certain people living that struggle life 

Ironing is long and time consuming 

I rarely use the iron anymore, anything worth ironing gets dry cleaned and everything else comes out calm from the washing machine

if You unplug it and the dial is turned to "cotton" then surely when You plug it back in the dial will still be turned to cotton?

why the extra step?

because thats the safest approach, to avoid burning clothes. new irons heat up superfast.. and cotton may be the wrong setting for your mum's polyester blouse.

Toss them in crumpled they spin crumpled haphazard. Place them in folded they spin pretty much like that, flat ish especially sheets.

my girl does have one but that st the only time ive ever seen one in a black household 

ironically enough i used it last week and had no idea how it worked apparently the ting has to steam up so you leave t for 5 mins then you start your cardio on your garms
