Was typing out some long essay about why we're struggling but .....it really isn't that deep.

 

not only are we adapting to a new way of playing and a new manager , The defence is an absolute shambles in comparison to our attack.

 if those comments are true and he has ruled out Rooney being the best striker in the team, What makes people think LVG won't do the same in the CAM position later ? CLEARLY Di Maria/Mata even Ander can do a better job in that role.

Rooney was a known quantity to LVG before he became manager, then after pre-season he decided that Rooney would be his leader.

We're not in and around the squad but i'd say we were knowledgeable enough to say giving Rooney the captaincy wouldn't bring out more good traits it'd probably cement bad ones. Leaving him out for a the first few games would either leave him hungrier (to succeed not for an all day breakfast) or wanting to leave, win win right?

I'm not completely discounting the possibility of LVG trying to set Rooney up, but surely there are easier ways to do it.

Alternatively we can just concede to the possibility that even the great LVG has been suckered in by the hidden charms of Wayne Rooney. How long that'll last is to be found out but to drop one of the most efficient (numbers wise) players in the squad to accommodate Rooney........

Potential is all well and good. Pennant, Bentley, Quaresma, Anderson, Cleverly, John O'shea, John Curtis. all had potential, what ever happened to paying 10/15 million for a player and more with add ons.

Blind and Rojo.... Rojo might prove himself to be a quality premier league defender in the next few games.....

But hey we signed Falcao a player we badly needed on loan,

Di Maria is certified already no arguements about that.

De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Evans, Shaw. Blind, Herrera. Januzaj, Mata, Di Maria. Rooney.

There's room in that team to revert back to the diamond midfield or even possibly a 4-3-3, arguably even a 3-5-2.

Januzaj marginalization has been a little disappointing almost as disappointing as Welbeck being shown the door.

In short defensive midfield and the back line is not as good as it should be.

 

 

The quality of the players isn't clearly but could you say the coaching isn't good enough either?

So many things to say it is hard to decide where to start

 

1. We signed Rojo to play in a 352 formation but we have already dropped it to go 4-4-2 which I expect us to keep playing as Rooney dont get dropped for us to go 4-3-3 which would suit us most imo and play to our strengths and weaknesses

Allows us to control the game more, gives our forward 3 more freedom to attack, and allows us to protect our defence more

 

2. MR YOU ONLY PLAY ON MERIT saying Rooney basically told him to play him #10 and he did, he misplaces passes all game, slows us down and yet because as LVG said he is captain and will play every game he wont get dropped

 

3. RVP looks like he has lost interest since winning the title and Fergie retiring which Ferdinand also said is basically what he thinks happened

 

4. People keep going on about our defence being shit personnel wise but like somebody else said Pullis would have these lot looking like world beaters after a couple weeks, they aren't a CL winning backline, but they are better than 5 goals vs Leicster and 4 goals vs MK Dons ffs

 

5. We are still carrying too many injury prone players 

 

6. Why did LVG bring Mata on to replace Di Maria when we are away from home, really need to win to keep the confidence up and not bring on Fletcher to help just see the game out, even Valencia, who brings on Mata to do that ffs

 

7. I miss Kagawa and Weltekk

Pulis would make Smalling/Evans look like World beaters?   These man get spun weekly and we're now saying a relegation escapee manager will make them decent CB's
