David Moyes gives positive update on Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez has been back in training with Manchester United this week and is closing in on a return to first team action.

The 25-year-old is yet to feature under David Moyes having suffered a hamstring injury during the pre-season but it won’t be much longer before we see him back in action.

Speaking to MUTV about the team news for Liverpool, Moyes said: ”To be fair, we have got very few injuries, only Rafa really.

“Jonny got a game, which we felt he needed because he had missed a bit of pre-season, coming in and out at different times.

“Nani has done more training and is getting closer to it, Chicharito has had a hamstring but he has trained for the last three or four days and is doing much better. So we are very close to full strength. Maybe it is only Rafa who is a doubt.”

United really missed having Hernandez against Chelsea on Monday given his goalscoring record against the London club and it will be great having him back in the squad because Chicharito’s ability to score vital goals will make him such an important player for Moyes.

There was also good news about Nani and Jonny Evans who are both close to full fitness meaning that United will have an almost fully fit squad going into September.
