RVP

Carrick

Kagawa

Jones

Vidic

All these players should have adequate and fitting ready made replacements. With the exception of RVP who is an exceptional player. I would've said Vidic fell into this category but his body has been breaking down consistently for a few years.

The issue is Ferdinamd, Giggs who are a while past their best.

Anderson, Young and Cleverly who whilst very capable on their day aren't quite "Manchester United players" whatever that means in 2013

Nani who definitely has the talent and ability but has only really showed bursts in what is near enough a 7 year career here.

Valencia who has been dodgy for a whole now,

Are all still key players who are relied upon, (this might not apply to Young or maybe even Nani at this point).

This leaves a core squad of

Carrick who neutrals and even still some United fans are unsure about at the top level.

Evra who has his dodgy moments.

Evans who isn't certified but one to watch in the near future.

Jones and Smalling (see Evans)

Rooney (who if you take a poll of the United fans on here isn't worth a place in the first 11.

Hernandez

Welbeck who both have question marks over them at the top level.

Januzaj who has done his thing but shouldn't have any real pressure put in him as others should be shouldering it for now.

RVP, Rafael, De Gea and possibly Rooney are the only players the other clubs in the top 6 would look at as beingbablebto walk into their first 11.

Why is "the biggest club in the world" in this predicament.

Add to that a Manager who none of the other clubs in the top 6 would have we have real issues that stretch further than dodgy tactics and negative outlooks.

(No I'm not going at Moyes and won't as I think a good cook is only as good as the ingredients he has. Whereas a great cook can make something great from nothing)

Having 5 players out injured shouldn't be an issue for a club of this size when they are spread out over a range of different positions imo

There should be a Striker ready to come in and bang.

Should have at least one other arguably two centre midfielders in the squad able to dictate play. (Only having signed Fellani in this position in 7 years probably spells out what the issue is here. Especially when it was decided that Pogba chose the wrong agent.

Should have 4 solid centre backs

And a right back who can do a good job.

I asked at the start of the season how many of our players could find their way into the teams of the other top 6, can't think of many when this is addressed we can start to get a better picture of just how good/bad Moyes is. Coz right now he's trying to stand up to the comparison of possibly the greatest man to do it.

Will still at least finish in the top 3 with either Chelsea or City winning it. That'll be an achievement of sorts and something to build on.

The Scotland international is hoping to soon be back in contention for a place in Moyes' first team plans, but the United boss will not be rushing the 29-year-old back into the fold.

He told the club's official website: "I don't think he's quite ready yet.

"He has a bit to do in terms of more reserve games.

"It's great to see him training regularly, that's a big thing. He's beginning to look like a footballer again, and that in itself is a real plus for him.

"I wouldn't want to put a date on (a return) because of the condition. It's something we just have to take as we go along.

"He's training well and looking good, so we'll try to ensure that continues. I would hate to put a date on things and I'd need to check in with the doctors as well that everything is going to plan."

That last bit is no longer assured im afraid

It's never been and never will be assured.

Hard work and application is what's needed. (The same hard work that was evident when Fergie was in charge.

I think that's what Moyes was trying to get at with his no gaurentee of winning games quote.

That's my biggest gripe, people are giving the players a free ride here, the squad isn't at all fantastic but the hard work and application thing is what is missing, certain players are not pulling their socks up and playing for the shirt which is the bare minumum wveryone sjoukd expect. When everyone is giving 100% and the squad is of the quality it should be I'll start throwing stones at Moyes.

Then again even then I'll ask the question of what the criteria was that highlighted Moyes as the main candidate for the job.

People criticise Moyes for being out of his depth and lacking experience at the top level etc that isn't his fault, people criticise him for being negative at times, that's his nature and shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.

I'm not qualified to manage Manchester United but if I was offered the job Id take it too. The questions have to be asked of the people who employed him. (And why)
