if you've already got a degree then perhaps a Masters would be open to you?
Academic Thread
ive got one already one bro....its irrelevant for what i want to do
just feel that this would give me a jump, looking to be paid to be at the next olympics....doing something i currently do for free/petrol money
as ive said its possible without one but i want to get out of grassroots and move to elite level

If you've already got a degree allow it completely. Befriend some people who already do it and schmooze you're way in.

Go for it. I went to Uni at 20 and was a little worried about halls etc. being too young for me. They weren't. Out of my circle at Uni there was only two who were 18 at start, the rest 19-22. In my halls there was a 29 year old and 27 year old.
On my course there were people up to late 30's.

But as M12 says if you've already got one there's no point. Degree gets you in the door, the rest is dependant on you
I had 35-40+ year olds in my course at Uni when I was 19.
If it propels your prospects and you want a quicker route to get to where you wanna be - go for it. Only downside is the financial burden.

exactly this!!!!! i got group work assignments for most of my modules, i swear i could kill certain ppl in the group
Dont get me started.
I was that bitch in the group telling people what to do because they were incompetent
How can one guy still have been editing his slides for our presentation 5 mins before we had to present it. They ended up doing their own individual parts meaning it didn't fit
Got 67 for individual group and 50 for group. 58 overall
>>>>>> presentations
and im talking high school and college level
fuckin hated them
group work was worse, im the guy that couldnt be arsed, i just freestyled the presentations, we got good marks still
still remember getting my first A* in an english presentation that I made up, cant remember exactly what the topic was about, but i ended up talking about gangs
the amount of stuff i made up >>>>
teacher was in awe, asked bare questions, when i spoke about the bloods she was like "is that why kids call each other blood?" i was like "yeah... its used to symbolise a bond we have with each other, the same kind of bond a gang has"
she loved it

thinking of doing a degree
want to get into a different field
anyone got any experience in applying as a mature student?
Ive looked into the area i want to get into and without the specific degree it can take me 10-15 years to get to where i want to be and i dont want to be barrel scraping and working the bottom however good or opportunistic i think i am pushing 40
with the degree including the 3 years studying as i reckon i can get enough experience working during that time too, plus the little i have currently i think it can be done in 6-7 years
obviously im prepared for the financial battering ill take, as ive been eating real nice last few years

What field is it if you don't mind me asking. You probably don't need a degree as much as you think you do.
