The Man City striker had a game of conkers with a neighbourhood lad after stopping to ask a group of kids and dads why they were shaking a horse chestnut tree.

Local dad Phil Parkinson said: “I was with my 11-year-old lad when Balotelli pulled up.

“We tried explaining to him what the game was but he didn’t seem to get it.

“Then when one of the boys pulled out a pair of conkers, he wanted to play.

“The lad split his conker to pieces and Mario kept laughing.’”
