Sherwood seems to be a really talented manager. Nothing about his time at the Villa has suggested he's a 'get up and get in to 'em' sort of manager. We're playing excellent stuff, the trio of Delph, Grealish and Benteke is a joy to watch.
He's making really interesting tactical decisions (such as the introduction of two number 10s in the semi v Liverpool) and they're working. He then seems to completely deflect away from them in his post-match interviews.
I'm not saying he intentionally tries to come across clueless, I think just as much as he was portrayed as being a 'football-man' at Spurs as his justification for getting the job, some decisions are second-nature to him. Marcotti talks about his 'above-average football intelligence', the guy clearly knows what he's doing, has a vision and plays that way.
If we stay up, I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do with a pre-season. He's just been fire-fighting in his career so far and he's done fucking brilliantly.
