Playing 2 strikers and 2 CMs has killed us so many times this season.

Injuries forced Moyes to make positive changes to our tactics and formation tonight. Let's see if he's learned his lesson when we have a full squad available...

This.

But You just know moyes will attribute kagawas good performance to the fact it was in europe.

Too much shoehorning going on.

Exactly

If rooney plays up top on his own in a 4231 or even wide left in a 433 no one will really complain as like yesterday it will bring the best out of him

Just needs to know rvp is 1st choice and come in and do a job when he is called upon

Rooney as a second striker in a 2 does not work

Nor does rooney as a 10 in behind the striker

"I think what I've seen from Nani is someone who is a talented player, a Portuguese international, and I hope we can try to get him to show that more often," explained Moyes.
"I thought there were moments when he ran the ball well for us in midweek and he scored a really good goal at the end.
"We're trying to give him the feeling that he is important and I think it's something he himself needs - to get back to that consistency which gives him the reason to say: 'I'm the man. I can do that job regularly'.
"Look, what I've found is he works hard enough at his game. He is happy to do all the leg work and the biggest thing is he has brilliant ability to score.
"His shooting with both feet is almost as good as anybody I've ever seen. He's incredibly talented with his skills and ability. We need to get him to show that more often."

'It’s a long season and we’re going to have to have different combinations for different games but, tonight, Wayne and Shinji Kagawa were very good.'

In the absence of van Persie, Rooney will lead the line while Kagawa will play the trequartista role. The Japanese international's inclusion in the senior XI, though, is not dependent on the fitness of van Persie as, Moyes added, he could shift Shinji to the left.

'Sometimes Wayne might need to play up front and Shinji will play behind. We have to make sure we have alternatives if Wayne or Robin [van Persie] are injured. Shinji was excellent tonight but he's also good on the left.'

He still doesn't get it
